As the world continues to adapt, so do vehicle companies. Many companies have already started developing vehicles with alternative fuel and fuel-cell technology. Two companies, in particular, that have been are Hyundai and Honda. The Hyundai IONIQ, the Hyundai Tucson, and the Honda FCX are three of the top alternative fuel and fuel-cell vehicles as we speak.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALTERNATIVE FUEL AND FUEL-CELL VEHICLES

Fuel-cell vehicles and vehicles that use alternative fuel do share a difference. Alternative fuel cars do not use an engine to burn gasoline for fuel. They are fueled by electricity. There is no engine, instead, they have batteries and the electricity stored in them powers the car’s electric motor. Recently this month the company announced their new Hyundai IONIQ model would be released sometime next year. This vehicle will have three engine choices, making it the first to do so. You can choose the electric and plug-in gasoline hybrid, the electric and regular gasoline hybrid, or the full on the electric motor. The company has stated that this will be the first vehicle in the world to allow consumers to choose between the PHEV, EV, and Hybrid

HONDA FCX FUEL-CELL VEHICLE

The Honda FCX Fuel-Cell vehicle will work just a little differently than the Hyundai IONIQ. Although fuel-cell vehicles are powered by the battery’s themselves, these vehicles still store the electricity inside them. The Honda FCX has a hydrogen tank that stores the hydrogen. This is then combined with oxygen to create the electricity. Then it is stored in the lithium-ion battery. This electricity will then allow the vehicle to run.

HYUNDAI TUCSON FUEL-CELL VEHICLE

Hyundai also has a vehicle using fuel-cell technology and it is available right now. The Hyundai Tucson is actually available to be leased for $499 a month for 36 months. This vehicle does indeed use fuel-cell technology to power it. The company actually noted as saying this is the first mass-produced fuel-cell vehicle in the world. Safety is also a main point as the Hyundai Tucson will have a Blind Spot Remover, Automatic Emergency Braking System, and Lane Departure Warning technology built-in.

ALTERNATIVE FUEL AND FUEL-CELL VEHICLES HAVE ONE BIG SIMILARITY

There is one major similarity between alternative fuel and fuel-cell technology. The similarity is that they both do away with gasoline for electricity. Even though they achieve this differently, they still both use electricity. Both are aimed at making the world a little cleaner.

A CASE FOR ONLY ALTERNATIVE FUEL AND FUEL-CELL VEHICLES

A serious case can be made for all vehicle companies to not make gasoline powered vehicles anymore. Due to the fact that alternative fuel and fuel cells do not emit any carbon dioxide, they would make the world cleaner. This can then be attributed to helping against climate change and global warming. Producing all vehicles that do not emit any carbon dioxide would be a very good step in stopping global warming. The good thing is, is that the world is seeing more companies produce fuel-cell vehicles. Maybe the world should think about only making these type of vehicles.

Fuel-cell vehicles is a topic that many car companies have discussed. As a matter of fact, a few have already invested in it and produced it. Honda has their Honda FCX listed as coming in 2016, the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell can be leased, and Toyota has announced they are working with the technology.

SOUTH KOREA PLANNING FOR FUEL-CELL VEHICLES

South Korea has certainly made no bones about the fact that they believe in fuel-cell vehicles. The trade and environment industries over there mention how they want to get 9,000 fuel-cell cars on the road within the next five years. In the next 15 years, they said they would like to have over 600,000 on the road. Also, they state that by 2020 South Korea will see 20 percent of its new cars with low-emission.

HONDA FCX IS A FUEL-CELL VEHICLE

It seems Honda is going to get in on the fun of fuel-cell technology as well. The Honda FCX is listed on Honda’s website to be coming in 2016. They list the incredible technology inside their new automobile. This will be an electric powered car that will emit zero emissions. The company states this will help slow down the increase of greenhouse gases. They also will feature a new fuel cell stack for enhanced performance. For safety, the Honda FCX will have a Vehicle Stability Assist and a Collision Mitigation Braking System.

THE HYUNDAI TUCSON FUEL CELL CAR

Hyundai already has a vehicle with the fuel-cell technology available to the public. On their website, the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell car can be leased for $499 a month for 36 months with $2,999 due at signing. The company states that this is the first mass-produced fuel cell vehicle and that it is as futuristic and safe as any car in the world. Water is the only emission from the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell car. Safety is a huge factor with this vehicle as it has a carbon-fiber wrapped fuel tank along with designed safety systems. Hyundai promises that this is one of the safest vehicles on the road.

TOYOTA TALKS ABOUT FUEL-CELL TECHNOLOGY

Toyota is yet another company that wants to make vehicles that use fuel-cell technology. They say that the power of hydrogen is being harnessed. The company mentions that they are producing and developing this technology actively. The hope for them, they mention, is that the power of hydrogen can help them make vehicles for the next century.

TOYOTA DISCUSSES POSTIVIES OF FUEL-CELL VEHICLES

On Toyota’s website, the company lists some of the biggest reasons why these type of vehicles are better. The biggest one is the fact that zero carbon dioxide emissions are present. This will then lead to a much better chance at a low-carbon society. Also, the convenience of this technology is great since it has a long fuel time. Toyota also mentioned that Hydrogen is very versatile given that it can be produced in multiple ways.
