CAPCOM RELEASES LATEST UPDATES AND NEWS

The main news from Capcom regarding Street Fighter 5 is the announcement of the new training mode. According to details, the new training mode for Street Fighter 5 will follow a young Ryu as he trains with Master Gouken, his master. In the tutorial video released by Capcom, it is shown that these two are sparing with each other in order for Ryu to hone his abilities. Capcom also reported that this mode will feature Alpha-era Ryu and Ken costumes. Although it is not officially announced, it was stated that it would make sense for these to be available outside of training mode.

The producer of Street Fighter 5, Yoshinori Ono, also hinted that there will be six additional DLC characters available. The characters themselves have not officially been announced at this time, but they can be expected to join the cast of fighters. Ono announced that these characters will be unlockable via gameplay and that all DLC for Street Fighter 5 will be free. Free downloadable content is always an awesome feature for video games as the usual retail price of over $50 is more than enough money to pay.

THE ANTICIPATION

The last solo Street Fighter game was Street Fighter 4, which was released seven years ago in 2008. To say it has been awhile for Street Fighter fans to play a new Street Fighter is an understatement. For those who are unaware, Street Fighter 5, just like the others, is a 2-D fighting game in which people have a variety of characters to pick from and fight against other computers or other users. No matter how much fun a fighting game is, it will get old after awhile. This is why Street Fighter fans are craving this game so much and hopefully they will be satisfied. February 16th, 2016 is the date all fans waiting for Street Fighter 5 need to be pumped for as that is the day that this game will officially hit the shelves.

Street Fighter V Players Can Earn Free DLC - http://clapway.com/2015/07/19/street-fighter-v-players-can-earn-free-dlc567/

Earn New Street Fighter Content By Playing the Game

Downloadable content – DLC – has been frowned upon and complained about by video game players since its inception. You’ve already paid for the game, and if you bought it as soon as it came out, you probably paid a lot for it. Now you need to pay even more to get a little bit more content for the game you’ve already paid for? DLC rarely goes over well, unless it’s excellent content, or you’re a kid with rich parents. Or, in this case, the company making the DLC wants to make sure they’re on your good side. Enter Capcom, the makers of the famous Street Fighter series, including the upcoming Street Fighter V. They’ve gone in a whole new direction for DLC with the next Street Fighter game: instead of making strictly for-purchase DLC and eventually rolling it out, they’re giving players the chance to earn DLC over the course of Street Fighter V, and if they want it, they don’t have to pay money for it!

Buy DLC With In-Game Currency

When you first purchase Street Fighter V (which has no official release date other than 2016), you begin the game with 16 characters. Longtime Street Fighter fans will be excited to know that four of these sixteen are actually making their Street Fighter debut. As you continue to play the game and do well, new characters and other forms of content will become available to you. But rather than being forced to look for your actual wallet, Street Fighter V offers you something of a proverbial wallet. It’s called Fight Money, and it’s the currency you earn while playing the game. If you have enough Fight Money and want that new piece of content, you can pick it up! If you don’t, you can keep playing until you do. In doing this, it allows Street Fighter to be available on one disk where you can keep the updates on, as opposed to expensive and bulky Ultra/Super editions.

You Can Also Pay For the Street Fighter DLC If You Want

Maybe I’ve had you all wrong, and you’re an eccentric billionaire who loves buying DLC all the time. Good news, weirdo, you can! Street Fighter V also offers something called Zenny, a premium form of currency that you pay for with real money. By using it, you bypass having to wait to unlock DLC and can immediately gain access. Zenny is the currency for you, eccentric billionaire and/or impatient child of an eccentric billionaire!

Capcom Wants Players To Stick Around

Capcom is going about this much differently than they have for past Street Fighter games. Besides the obvious goodwill they’ll get from having DLC that you aren’t forced to purchase, they also did this to keep a more engaged base of players long-term. Deluxe packs of already existing Street Fighter games don’t actually do that much for that long to revitalize the Street Fighter name. But by making the DLC unlockable at your own pace at your own cost, it keeps players interested, incentivized, and satisfied with Capcom. They even give free balancing updates to the gameplay. Capcom is essentially trying to do what gamers have asked companies to do as effectively as they can, and are seeing how well it works.
