Volkswagen Gets Cited by US Authorities

Authorities in California and Washington are calling for a recall of Volkswagen diesel cars. Since their initial scandal regarding gas emissions, Volkswagen has been facing a lot of trouble regarding their diesel cars, and the company may even have to recall a number of their cars.

VW Set to Meet With California Authorities and US Environmental Protection Agency

More than 482,000 VW cars were sold in the United States with diesel motors. After the gas emission scandal broke out, confirming that Volkswagen cars were cheating emissions tests. Volkswagen hasn’t yet announced how exactly it will handle this scandal in terms of recalls. The state of California gave Volkswagen until November 20 to announce how they will handle the scandal.

The car maker has taken a very passive reaction to the scandal. It was recently revealed that the gas emissions test scandal came as the result of a mistake made in the manufacturing process that was kept under wraps by Volkswagen engineers.

The Manufacturer Has Not Released A Definite Statement Yet

The heads of Volkswagen, while they have expressed deep disappointment for this scandal, have not given any details in regards to recalls. They have been quiet, insisting that they will focus on getting back the trust of their customers before going forward with any of their upcoming projects.

According to Elio, the brand-new P5 has great fuel economy, featuring between 84 and 81.6 mpg. The car is sure to bring in something for everybody and with a few perks as well. The car, though only a prototype for now, has a very interesting look, something similar to a dragonfly crossed with what one would call a ‘car of the future’, with three wheels instead of the customary four.

Drivers of the Elio P5 will surely stand out, given the unique feel of the car, but it will also bring a new method to travel that saves fuel and brings us one step closer to a greener, more efficient car.

Elio P5 Expected to Hit Dealerships in 2016

The Elio P5 is the fifth prototype of the three wheeled car, but Elio Motors has confirmed that the model is still set to hit dealerships sometime in 2016. To date, 47,000 units of the Elio P5 have been pre-ordered, and these will be the first to roll out of the manufacturers.

Fiat 124 Spider Unveiled at LA Auto Show

The Fiat 124 Spider was unveiled at the LA Auto Show on November 18, and the small two-seater is getting props for it’s small size and cute design. The Fiat 124 Spider is named after the tiny convertible Fiat sold between 1966 and 1985, and it uses the same body building as the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

It Still Has the Classic Fiat Exterior and Engines

Despite looking cute, the Fiat 124 Spider was reviewed by analysts as being likely a lot of fun to drive. It’s a modern take on the classic Spider, whose initial concept actually originated from the ‘sporty’ line of horse drawn carriages in the 19th century, featuring a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine. It’s purely Italian at 160 horsepower, with six-speed manual and automatic transmission available.

The new Fiat has a dual-port grille and a horizontal line that swipes up along the doors and rear fenders, which gives it a rather elegant look, with large horizontal taillights and dual exhaust pipes. This makes it a unique Fiat, whose signature look is always at the border of chic and cute, and a great fusion with its Japanese cousin, the Mazda M-5 Miata. It features the Miata’s gauges, size and storage capacity and controls, but it still manages to get the particular kind of engineering that only Fiat can bring. There’s no date attached to its release, nor are there details in regards to its fuel economy, but the Fiat 124 Spider is sure to entice a lot of driver enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
