Irrational Games Makes a Comeback, Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat Have New Faces - http://clapway.com/2015/12/14/irrational-games-makes-a-comeback-fighter-games-flourish-123/

BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games, owned by 2K Games and Take Two Interactive, is looking to hire new staff to develop a story-driven FPS game. The company’s website reveals that their teams are looking for a systems designer and a QA manager with passion for narrative first-person shooters.

Irrational Games Job Listing Requires Semi-Open or Open-World Experience

The company pointed to games like Borderlands or Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor of examples of the people they’re looking to hire. They also noted that knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 is preferred.

This gives a few pointers in regards to what kind of game they’re looking to make, but it also tells us that Irrational Games isn’t dead yet. Earlier in 2015, the developer had significant staff losses, but Irrational Games could not be considered out of the game just yet.

Irrational Games Sets New Goals for 2016

Ken Levine, the founder of the company, set Irrational Games’ new goals to make narrative-driven games with the potential to be highly replayable. These games would be targeted to core gamers. More importantly, Irrational Games will be focusing on making digitally delivered content only. This, as declared by Levine, is to ensure the developers and the gamers have the most direct relationship possible.

Irrational Games can no longer be associated with the Bioshock series, though System Shock 2, BoioShock and BioShock Infinite were all commandeered by Irrational Games. The remaining games out of the BioShock series will be developed by Take-Two Interactive. Moving forward, Irrational Games hope to come out with something new and different.

Other New Exciting Releases from NetherRealm Studios and Bandai Namco

NetherRealm Studios hosted the release of a new Mortal Kombat X DLC this week. This title which has enjoyed plenty of fame with every installment. Announced in June of last year and released that April, the game enjoyed quite a bit of success from the PS4, Xbox One, iOS and Android platforms.

What the DLC would bring was widely unknown, though there were rumors that it would feature new characters. These rumors were confirmed at the Game Awards 2015, where the developer announced that the upcoming DLC would feature four new characters.

Two of the New Characters Will Be Familiar Faces

NetherRealm Studios revealed that two of the upcoming DLC characters are figures of the Mortal Kombat universe while the remaining two would be characters from Hollywood films.

The first character to join the team is Bo Rai Cho, master of martial arts for an affinity with booze. His main combat style is named Drunken Fist. The second character is called Tri-Borg. He’s a cyborg combination of Sektor, Cyrax, and Robot Smoke.

Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat Have New Faces

The Hollywood characters are Leatherface, from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, and Xenomorph, from the Alien film franchise. Xenomorph will apparently carry some DNA from Baraka, a Mortal Kombat character, in this DLC.

The response to the classic characters was great, as was expected, but the other two didn’t get a very warm welcome. Gamers aren’t entirely happy with the inclusion of Hollywood characters in the series since it seems like an odd move to make when there are so many beloved characters that could have been chosen instead.

Nevertheless, Ed Boon has defended the character inclusion, and most of the uproar has settled. The DLC will be released sometime in 2016, available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android.

Tekken 7 Also Has A New Character

Bandai Namco‘s Tekken 7: Fated Retribution will feature a classic Street Fighter character that many will be happy to see in the fighter roster. Akuma will even have a vein in the main storyline, going up against Heihachi.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution only has an arcade release scheduled. It has been very successful in Japanese arcades and has received positive reviews from the Japanese community. This new update will bring the series more positive feedback.

The regular Tekken 7 will be released next year for the PS4 and Xbox One, and hopefully sometime in the future, Fated Retribution will also see a console release for the West.

The Terminator and Michael Myers Were Coming to Mortal Kombat X? - http://clapway.com/2015/12/05/the-terminator-and-michael-myers-were-coming-to-mortal-kombat-x/

Any modern game that gets released usually gets a focus on DLC. DLC is downloadable content that adds more features to video games. The creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon, recently revealed a few characters that almost made their way to Mortal Kombat X.

4. Terminator Mortal Kombat X

MORTAL KOMBAT X ALMOST HAD THE TERMINATOR AND MICHAEL MYERS

Boon was recently speaking with IGN and he revealed that the company was considering many DLC characters to add to Mortal Kombat X. The two big names he said were being considered were indeed The Terminator and Michael Myers. However, in the end it was not meant to be for this to occur. Boon states that there were various reasons behind this decision. He mentions that they did not feel like it was a match and they could not come to terms with it. He did also say that they always explore more characters than they will actually use.

HOW COOL WOULD IT BE FOR THESE TWO TO BE IN MORTAL KOMBAT X

There might not be two characters that would fit a franchise more than these two would in Mortal Kombat X. The Terminator is a heartless machine that will kill anyone at any time. Michael Myers is also a killing machine that terrorizes everyone on Halloween. These two fit perfectly because Mortal Kombat is known for its brutality and blood. It is probably the most violent fighting game series of all-time, and these two characters are two of the greatest killing machines ever. The match was made in heaven, but Boon apparently did not think so.

ON A SIDE NOT, BATMAN AND CATWOMAN HAVE NO CHANCE AT MORTAL KOMBAT X EITHER

On top of Boon spilling this news, he also stated that it is highly doubtful to see a Batman character or Wonder Woman in this game. He stated how those characters would not fit into a brutal world like Mortal Kombat. Boon was just seeming to disappoint fan after fan with his latest news.
