The Samsung Smart TV has won the Consumer Electronics Show 2016’s Best of Innovation Award, effectively beating out Roku and Apple TV. The product, which won the award as part of the Accessible Tech category, will be unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 5, 2016.

It adjusts spoken dialogue to be easier to hear and understand, and users can manipulate it by adjusting ‘voice frequency’ from their Samsung Smart TV. The TV also includes a new interface with improved readability. These are all expected moves from Samsung, who always manages to be ahead of the game when it comes to new technology and cool gimmicks.

Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV Are No Match for Samsung Right Now

The CES showcase will not focus so much on the updated gimmicks. Instead, it’ll be all about content. Samsung is planning to bring in games for the Samsung Smart TV, something all other smart televisions lack. These games would include the Asphalt 8 racing game. They’re also in talks to join hands with Sony to stream games to the Samsung Smart TV through the Playstation. Now those are some pretty gnarly moves. If the Apple TV, the Roku series or the Amazon Fire TV want to stay in the game, they’d best measure up.

TV streaming is growing and growing and Apple TV is certainly a part of that growth. As a matter of fact, it is safe to say that it is the future of TV streaming. Chromecast and Roku both offer good packages and services, but they do not possess the future like Apple does.

APPLE TV IS THE FUTURE OF TV STREAMING

Tim Cook, who is the CEO of Apple, believes that the future is now. Cook stated that he believes the future of television is apps. He declared that statement when the company unveiled their TV back in September of this year. Their Apple TV allows users to stream movies and TV Shows from iTunes. Not only this but apps can be downloaded from their App Store to stream content from CBS All Access, Hulu, Netflix, and many others. Another cool thing to keep in mind is Apple is always updating their App Store.

ONLY ONE THING MISSING FROM APPLE TV

There is really only one major feature missing to the Apple TV. That feature is an app for Amazon Prime Video. With Amazon Prime Video, users can access an enormous library of top-of-the-line original TV series. However, there is still a way to watch it, it is just less convenient. Users must use an Apple feature, called AirPlay, to stream the video from your iPhone, or iPad, onto your Apple TV Screen. The good thing is that rumors across the web have indicated this could change in the future.

CHROMECAST AND ROKU ARE GOOD, BUT ARE NOT THE FUTURE

Roku actually has much more content than the Apple TV, but it lacks one major software. iTunes is not present on Roku, as well as not being present on the Chromecast. Chromecast and Roku also do not have an app for the Amazon Prime Video.
