PHANTOM SQUAD UNLEASHES THREAT TO XBOX LIVE AND PSN USERS

This threat was issued by this group on a post on Twitter. The tweet read that they will shut down Xbox Live and PSN on Christmas. The tweet also said that both of these services would be down the whole week. They were asked why they were doing this and they responded by saying they do it because cyber security does not exist. However, it does appear that they have since fled Twitter. Another thing that needs to be known is this is not the first time this has happened.

Around this time last year, a similar incident arose. This group called themselves the Lizard Squad. Well, at least, the Phantom Squad gave themselves a cool name. Anyway, they attacked Xbox Live and PSN and ruined many gamers Christmas’s. However, most of them were arrested, but they provided the world with an annoying event. Also, it should be noted that causing an attack like this does not even require hacking. All that needs to be done is to overload the servers until they can not respond. Anonymous would be ashamed of these groups.

ANONYMOUS WOULD BE ASHAMED

These stupid teens are probably acting like their hot shots because they can do this. However, they need to talk to Anonymous about real hacking. The entitled group is a very well known hacking group. Some people have called them influential while others have called them cyber terrorists. Many members of this hacking group have been arrested for cyber attacks. Whether or not they are good or bad is up for debate. However, what is not up for debate is the fact that The Phantom Squad needs to take notes from Anonymous before they do anything.

Even though it was not a real hack last year, the Lizard Squad was still able to shut down Xbox Live and PSN. So, in the wake of this again, Sony and Microsoft need to make sure they take all of the precautions necessary. The Phantom Squad may not seem like that big of a threat, but again this happened last year. We will see if they have upgraded their defenses enough to stop this from happening again. The problem is an attack like this, overwhelming a network until it stops responding, is not hard to orchestrate. Gamers will not appreciate it if another one of their Christmas’s is ruined by stupid teens.

Well, my take on that is they want to prove to the world that they are good enough to pull something like this off. In other words, a massive ego boost will be achieved by the members ruining others Christmas’s. It is not like they feel sorry for people, because if they did they would not do it. ISIS is sure not making many friends as of late. The Islamic militant group not only received a letter from El Chapo declaring war, but they were also trolled by Anonymous. It is apparent that both of them have a major beef with the ISIS.

ANONYMOUS TROLLS THE ISIS

For those who are unaware, Anonymous is an activist hacking group. The group posted a message online to ask everyone to troll the ISIS. This was coming after they declared cyber war on them less than a month ago. To troll someone means that you are allegedly trying to argue with them or you are just upsetting them for no reason. They asked anybody who would listen to purposely mock the Islamic militant group. This did indeed happen, as the people who decided to participate in the trolling used the hashtags #Daeshbags, #trollingday, and #isistrollingday. The first one is extremely derogatory, but that was the intent. The trolls swapped the ISIS heads with duck heads. I will let you figure that one out.

EL CHAPO BACKSTORY

Before I go into detail on what El Chapo did, his back story is necessary to know. El Chapo is one of the most wanted drug lords in the world right now. He was recently sent to prison for the second time, but he escaped again. Apparently, he was able to escape via a hole through the shower. His men were the ones who dug the tunnel that would lead him to his escape. This means that he is a wanted man on the run, and now he has declared war against the ISIS, or has he?

EL CHAPO DECLARES WAR ON THE ISIS, OR DOES HE?

El Chapo wrote a letter threatening the ISIS and he posted it online. His letter mentions that he is declaring war against them. His letter stated that one of their cartel’s shipments were destroyed by the ISIS. He also called out all of their soldiers in his letter. He called them by a name that I do not want to repeat. He made no bones about it in his letter that he did not respect them, and that his men would destroy and kill them. It was a very detailed and disturbing letter that was written from him. However, many people mention how this could be a hoax. Even if, though, El Chapo still has a beef with them for the cartel’s shipments being destroyed.

WHO SHOULD ISIS FEAR MORE: EL CHAPO OR ANONYMOUS?

Well let us see, one declared a war and the other declared a cyber war. Anonymous, the one’s who declared cyber war, were also the ones who trolled the group over the internet. Now, trolling is not necessarily going to physically harm anyone. However, cyber attacking is something that should not be messed with. However, the letter from El Chapo, if it turns out to be true, is actually declaring war and threatening their people. El Chapo and his gang might be the one’s to fear in this one, but he is a wanted man and could be back in jail soon.

WILL THE ISIS STRIKE BACK?

The question now beckons on whether or not the Islamic militant group will respond to both of these events. I believe that they will and that they will in a big way. The stuff that was said to them, and the disrespectful trolling, towards them should lead them to do so. Now, the ISIS is not a group that has led a good cult following. They are a terrorist group and they probably deserve all that they are getting. Nobody will feel sorry for them, but that does not mean they have no right to retaliate.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE ISIS, EL CHAPO, AND ANONYMOUS

This whole situation is just ugly. That is the best word for all of this. This is dealing with a famous drug lord, an activist hacking group, and an Islamic terrorist group. I really do not think that there is a good way here, but let’s be clear about something the ISIS are not friends of El Chapo and Anonymous. That we can be 100 percent sure of.
