Apple Delays Start of Streaming Service - http://clapway.com/2015/08/14/apple-delays-start-of-streaming-service123/

According to recent releases and Apple information, a revamped version of the Apple TV was supposed to make its appearance next month, but now the company’s long time reported streaming service is now on hold.

Apple’s Negotiating With TV Networks Is Progressing Slowly

Apple was supposed to reveal the next version of the Apple TV set-top box at an event that was scheduled for September 9th, which is where they are also supposed to reveal the next installment of the iPhone family. However, Apple has now postponed the announcement of the live TV streaming service due to still negotiating licensing deals with TV networks such as those owned by CBS Corps and 21st Century Fox, Inc. These deals are reportedly “progressing slowly”.

In a report, people familiar with Apple’s plans are cited saying that Apple is continuously trying to secure programming for the service. Apparently the technology giant is lacking the proper computer network capacity that will ensure a good viewing experience for all customers. This new Apple TV apparently won’t be revealed until 2016.

Apple TV Is Supposed To Showcase New Features

Rumors surrounding this new and improved Apple TV have been circulating for months. According to reports from earlier this year, claims of the Apple TV included that it would possess a faster processor, support for digital voice assistant Siri, and an overhauled operating system. This was reportedly supposed to be revealed at June’s Worldwide Developers Conference before it was pushed back to the fall.

This Comes As Other Networks Prepare For Users To Cut Their Packages

The entrance of Apple into the streaming television realm arrives as many network and cable programmers prepare for the rise of users cutting the cords on their services. This new Apple TV has been called Apples chance to disrupt the cable television industry. Companies including Dish TV with Sling and Sony with PlayStation are introducing smaller bundle packages that boast live and local TV channels as well as other popular cable channels for a lower cost. Other networks have also launched their own standalone offers such as Showtime and HBO.

Apple iOS 9 Update Will Alleviate Spotty WiFi - http://clapway.com/2015/08/08/ios-9-to-switch-wifi-faster-101/

If you are seriously tired of the constant iPhone wifi problem, then fret not, for Apple has heard your cries. For example, when you are on the internet via a wifi connection that your phone automatically connected to, and all of a sudden the apps that you are looking at don’t load properly, because you don’t have any internet connection. Previously, you had to exit the app to turn off the wifi on your phone and see your cellular data. The new iOS 9 update will change all of that.

THIS WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO USE YOUR iOS 9

iOS 9 beta 5 includes a new wi-fi feature that many have awaited for years. It will automatically switch to your cellular data whenever you wifi isn’t working properly. This is a new setting that you will need to look for in the Settings app. You can turn it on or off depending on the allotted data from your cellular provider. This feature is called Wi-Fi Assist and it is described officially as a tool to “automatically use cellular data when Wi-Fi connectivity is poor.”

THIS SHOULD BE USED SPARINGLY IF CELLUAR DATA IS LIMITED

This feature should definitely be used with you checking in on it periodically. Especially if your mobile service provider changes your connection after a certain data limit is reached. So if your wifi networks are more dependable than not, then you might not want to turn this setting on.

Your iPhone won’t just quietly switch over to your cellular data; it will definitely let you know when it happens. The handset will grey out the wifi signal, telling you that you are about to go into the cellular data.

THIS IS CURRENTLY ON THE IOS 9 BETA 5 VERSION

This will make your phone way more efficient. This is the first time that this feature is being implemented by Apple, although this has previously been implemented by certain Samsung devices powered by Android that could be making the switch quickly.

Currently, this function is only available on iOS 9 beta, which is only available for iOS 9 beta, which is currently for developers only. However, this is expected to be released within the next few days along with the iOS 9 update for the general public. This is among the other few new updates that come along with iOS 9.

Google Maps Has a New Night Mode Option - http://clapway.com/2015/08/08/google-maps-night-mode-101/

A new update to the Google Maps iOS application is promising to make it easier to navigate around when it is dark outside that potentially reduced the risks associated with using the application when users are behind the wheel. In this latest release, the app is introducing a feature called “Night Mode” which gives you a darker display in comparison to the bright white one that is default for Google Maps.

NIGHT MODE AUTOMATICALLY MAKES THE APP EASIER TO USE AT NIGHT

In previous versions, users would have to turn down their brightness options on their iPhones. Now, the Google Maps iOS app does exactly that for you automatically. The idea that this could improve your night vision and your eyes will no longer have to adjust as you switch between the bright display and the darker road. Although this is a minor feature release, this one could make Google Maps much safer as a navigational aid for the millions of drivers who relied on the app instead of a navigational system.

NEW UPDATE IS LIVE ON BOTH IOS AND ANDROID

Night Mode is now live on the iOS version of Google Maps, and is already live on the Android version. The new update also included a few other interesting features. There are now features that allow for you to label places that you see on your maps and in your search suggestions. This would allow for a more personalized experience and you can also change the captions of the photos that you have uploaded to Google Maps.

NIGHT MODE IS AUTOMATIC AND CAN’T BE TURNED OFF

This feature is also entirely automatic, so you won’t have to change your phone’s settings in order to switch it on and off. Instead, the Night Mode will only activate when it is actually nighttime outside, and not just when its dark. Night Mode activates at a night based time within the phones time setting.

It is also only available in the turn-by-turn navigation mode, and not the default maps interface. This update is also available in turn-by-turn navigation mode and not just in the default map interface. Also, Night Mode is the current build and there isn’t a way to turn off this feature.
