Chevrolet Colorado To Help U. S. Army Destroy ISIS - http://clapway.com/2015/11/22/chevrolet-colorado-to-help-u-s-army-destroy-isis123/

Chevrolet is collaborating with the USA Military to make a Chevrolet Colorado truck that’s powered by a speculative hydrogen energy cell drivetrain. GM’s fuel source cell research and development operations are in in Pontiac, Mich., just north of Detroit, about 20 minutes from TARDEC.

A Nearness that Inspired a Collaboration

One of the greatest issues when it comes to army cars is their capacity to run quietly, while still providing a lot of power. FCVs are very silent cars, on which precursors, special operators and also other specialties position a premium. GM stated it would announce even more details on the vehicle and also timing later. Fuel cell cars use water as a buy-product, which is extremely valuable in dire conditions.  Hydrogen fuel cell propulsion technology also addresses two major ecological challenges with cars today: oil usage and carbon dioxide emissions.

These Cars Could Survive Extreme Situations

This technology would be especially helpful in arid settings. This technology is not only quiet, but thanks to electric motors’ low-end torque advantages, the fuel-cell stack could work as an emergency power generator and a source of water. GM’s production energized cars, like the Volt, ELR as well as Spark, have actually relied on battery packs for power.

Chevrolet Has Many Plans for Fuel Cell Cars

The TARDEC fuel-cell program will take 12 months to test how different fuel systems responds to severe duty cycles and the roughness of military life. In 2007 it introduced a fleet of fuel source cell-powered Chevy Equinox SUVs that were tested when traveling in real life scenarios for several years, that included stops at a number of army bases. Chevrolet has also been working since 2013 with Japan’s Honda to co-develop the future generation of fuel cell and hydrogen storage systems, hoping to commercialize it by 2020.

Active Phone Cooling- Chevy"s Miniature AC for Cooling Down Smartphones - http://clapway.com/2015/07/04/chevy-makes-miniature-ac-for-cooling-down-smartphones654/

Just in time for the Fourth of July, some good ol’ American engineering innovation

Chevrolet, a brand part of auto giant General Motors (GM), has recently unfurled the first smartphone tool of its kind- a tiny car-based air conditioner that helps keep smartphones, which often have a tendency to overheat, cool. Phone overheating can severely hamper your mobile device’s performance as well as kill your battery’s ability to hold a charge. Chevy is calling its system Active Phone Cooling, and it works off a car’s existing heat and AC system.

Active Phone cooling will be on 2016 Cruze, Malibu, Impala, and Volt

On 2016 Chevrolet Cruzes, Malibus, Impalas, and Volts that feature wireless charging, the Active Phone Cooling system will be offered, marking its debut. The system is essentially a small air vent that blows cold air onto a phone when it’s mounted in a specially designated shelf under the dashboard. Tech experts agree that heat buildup is a major problem for smartphones, especially ones that may spend a day behind the sun-struck glass of a car that essentially acts as a greenhouse.

what are The benefits of Active phone cooling?

As implied before, keeping a smartphone cool will help boost its performance and keep its battery healthy for longer. This is especially crucial now that more and more phones no longer allow you to remove their battery. The system is also great for Chevrolet as a company. By integrating the system into their cars, GM is making a smart ploy towards tech-savvy consumers whose lives seem to revolve around mobile technology.

Aw, but the only chevy I can afford is a used cavalier. what if i want active phone cooling?

Well, my friends, not everyone can or wants to plunk down $18,000 for a new Chevy. So, how does one keep smartphones cool in a beat-up 20 year-old Honda Civic? Well, it is always possible to rig a little phone shelf or sleeve by an AC vent yourself. Just don’t expect the solution to look nearly as cool or seamlessly integrated as General Motors’, and get ready for your friends to ridicule you that extra little bit.

Chevrolet Adds Theft Alarm Notification - http://clapway.com/2015/06/25/chevrolet-adds-theft-alarm-notification987/

Real-Time Alerts Added to OnStar

Chevrolet has recently added a Theft Alarm Notification to their OnStar services in the latest update of their use. This new service allows for users to be alerted in real time if their Chevrolet vehicle is in danger. This new breakthrough in technology has huge potential to put an end to quite a bit of attempted car thievery.

How Does It Work?

The Theft Alarm Notification is part of Chevrolet’s existing RemoteLink app that includes additional features for your car. If a thief were to trigger your car alarm, you would be immediately notified by your app and OnStar. You are given the option to choose if you receive this message via text, phone call, or email. It also lets you know that the appropriate authorities have been alerted as to the theft. In a sense, your car could text you to tell you that someone has stolen or is trying to steal it!

Were someone to steal your car, OnStar would use GPS technology to help your local authorities track down your car. OnStar can even help the police chase the thief down with the Theft Alarm Notification, as they can send a signal to certain specific models to slow down the car.

The Theft Alarm Notification is helped by an existing product in many Chevrolet models called the Theft Protection Package. This package includes protection such as interior motion sensors, glass breakage sensors, and an inclination sensor. If the alarm is set and someone attempts to break into the car, each of these sensors will sound their own alarm.

How Do You Get It?

Chevrolet owners who want the Theft Alarm Notification will need OnStar’s Stolen Vehicle Assistance service. That specific service is a part of the Security and Guidance subscription packages. Chevrolet owners should also make sure to check their model if they want the Theft Alarm Notification; it seems specific to Chevy models dated from 2014 or later. And even then, the qualifier is that most of those models are equipped or it. It’s also available for other General Motors brands like GMC, Buick, and Cadillac.

The Penny Skateboard doesn’t have any high-tech antitheft systems, but it sure is fun to drive.
