Microsoft Wants You to Use Internet Explorer, Not Chrome or Safari - http://clapway.com/2016/01/12/microsoft-wants-you-to-use-internet-explorer-not-chrome-or-safari-123/

It looks like Microsoft is giving up on Internet Explorer, but only to compete with Apple Safari, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. The company has officially announced that they will stop supporting all older versions of the browser. Users are being officially forced to update to Internet Explorer 11 or Edge before today.

Microsoft Pushes for Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge for Security

Older versions of the browser might make users vulnerable to hackers. As such, the corporation has officially decided to stop supporting older versions of the browser. Upgrading to the latest version of the Windows browser will give users a more efficient way to surf the web. They will be safer from bugs and viruses. Otherwise, customers risk being exposed to malware and hackers.

The Company Has Been Trying to Drop the Browser Since March 2015

The final straw came when Microsoft announced it would release an update with the final bug fixes and an ‘End of Life’ notification that will ask users to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer. In the announcement, the company declared that the latest version of the browser will follow the current component policy. This means that it will follow the support lifecycle of the Windows OS that the device has installed.

The first warnings of ending support for older browsers came in August of 2014. Because users still used outdated versions of Internet Explorer, the company has made this move. Microsoft has also downgraded Internet Explorer to legacy status. This means that as of March 2015, Internet Explorer was only useful for business compatibility.

Do People Even Choose to Use IE Over Chrome, Safari and Firefox?

Microsoft is slowly killing the unpopular browser, but only to encourage the spread of Microsoft Edge. The company has lost a lot of market shares to Chrome and Safari. By making this move, they are one step closer to bringing a new major browser on the market. Currently, the most used browsers are Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox.

By supporting only Internet Explorer 11 and onwards, Microsoft has the chance to get rid of Internet Explorer completely. The next step would be to make the upgrade to Microsoft Edge a mandatory one, and its platforms can come with built-in Edge on all machines.

Samsung Browser Could Beat Firefox and Chrome - http://clapway.com/2015/12/02/samsung-browser-could-beat-firefox-and-chrome/

There is a new web browser that is being created. Samsung has announced that they are releasing their Samsung Browser for the Gear VR virtual reality headset. Samsung has released some details on this web browser, and it seems as if it could be even better than Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

DETAILS ON THIS NEW SAMSUNG BROWSER

This new web browser is set to make the Samsung Gear VR an even better device. Samsung has announced that their browser will support voice recognition. They have also stated that their content will feature 3-D video streaming, 360-degree support, and will have HTML5 videos. They have also announced that it will have an on-screen keyboard that will be used for input. All is set for Samsung to make their web browser the most user efficient browser in the world. Not only that, but they look like they will have a powerful web browser that will have top of the notch videos.

WILL THIS SAMSUNG BROWSER BE BETTER THAN FIREFOX AND CHROME?

It sure does sound like Samsung’s new web browser will be better than Mozilla’s or Google’s, but reviews have not surfaced yet. This is because the only version that is available right now is the beta version. Samsung announced that the beta version would be available in the Oculus Store starting December 2nd. Once their full version web browser officially hits the market, it will be seen if it will be better than Firefox or Chrome.

SAMSUNG BROWSER GREAT FOR THEM

Whether or not this browser ends up being better than Chrome or Firefox does not mean everything. The fact that they are making this for their Gear VR will increase the usability of it. For now, people will have to test the beta version and see what kind of product Samsung has created. However, it does sound like their web browser could be the real deal.

Mozilla is not happy about Google - http://clapway.com/2015/11/27/mozilla-not-happy-google-123/

Mozilla has officially announced that they will no longer be receiving revenue from Google. There is no doubt that losing revenue from Google will be a big hit simply given how huge Google is. The company announced that they ended their global agreement with Google at the end of 2014. Can Mozilla honestly make as much money as they were without Google’s help?

CONFIDENT IN THEMSELVES

Mozilla seems to have a lot of pride and ego when it comes to them and Google. Now this is just speculation, but it seems like the company is coming off a little bit arrogant. Mozilla has stated that they are fully confident in their Firefox web browser and that they are a more flexible company. This is coming straight from Mozilla’s mouth and it seems like they now have a chip on their shoulder because they do not need Google anymore? However, do these still need Google? Mozilla will most likely be fine by themselves, but Google is one of the biggest companies in the entire world and their revenue can not help but to be missed. CFO James Cook did not seem to worry though with his comments. Cook stated that Firefox looks forward to seeing the 2015 revenue statistics to prove their continued track record of good revenue. Does that sound like confidence or arrogance? The answer is up to interpretation.

MOZILLA VS. GOOGLE

With Mozilla seemingly happier now that they ate away from Google, the question begs: who is better? Both of these companies are very popular and successful, and both have top notch web browsers in Chrome and Firefox respectively. The answer of who is better is all about preference and does not have one answer. What should be said is both companies are successful and they will most likely continue to be successful barring anything catastrophic. It also seems like there might be a hint of hostility, but that could be just an assumption. One thing that can be known is Google helped out Mozilla all of these years. The company should be and most likely is thankful for it.
