India Rejects Facebook, Embraces Microsoft and Google - http://clapway.com/2016/01/23/india-rejects-facebook-embraces-microsoft/

Facebook has tried to bring in Free Basics into India with very poor reception while Microsoft and Google are being fully embraced. Mark Zuckerberg has gone through great lengths to convince India that this system will make the country more connected. Microsoft and Google have an entirely different approach.

Facebook Struggles With India

Mark Zuckerberg even published a co-written article about the benefits of Free Basics, but the truth is that it has no future in the country. The main criticism that Mark Zuckerberg has come across is the fact that his approach is trying to dictate what Indian people have access to and how they can access it. This makes a sure shot for more Facebook and Facebook-related applications getting more public.

Microsoft Takes A Very Different Approach

Microsoft has offered their services instead of forcing them into the Indian people. They have offered all of their services to new and ambitious startups in India, and were quoted as being very interested in the country’s emerging markets.

Google Brings in Free High-Speed Wi-Fi

Google announced today that they will offer free high-speed Wi-Fi services to the Mumbai Central Station in the city of Mumbai. This is the company’s first step to get Wi-Fi in 400 train stations in the country. Their goal is not only to connect more spots in India, but also to increase their presence in the Indian market.

After China, India has the largest number of Internet users. However, only a third of the country has access to it. The other two-thirds are Google’s target audience. Coincidentally, this is the same target that Facebook’s Free Basics is trying to engage.

300 Indian Train Stations Will Be Connected

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the company will be installing Wi-Fi Indian railway stations. This came right after India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Google’s grounds in California. Google will be tackling 100 of India’s busiest train stations this year, and eventually, 300. Google doesn’t want to only stick to Mumbai; they’ll be expanding to Allahabad, Jaipur, Patna and Ranchi.

This is the largest public Wi-Fi project in the world, and it will be connecting 10 million people through those first 100 stations. Mobile internet is becoming a lot more accessible to commuters in India. It will be available at full speed and allow for HD video stream. It’ll slow down after one hour of use.

Google Pays What Microsoft Gives to Charity to Apple - http://clapway.com/2016/01/22/google-pays-what-microsoft-gives-to-charity-to-apple-123/

Bloomberg reports reveal that Google pays Apple $1 billion yearly to remain as Safari’s default search engine. This is the same figure Microsoft dedicated to charity.

An Unexpected Exchange Between Competitors Google and Apple

At least in 2014, Apple received exactly $1 billion from Google. The nature of the two giants’ relationship is still vague, but Macquarie Capital analysts estimated that Apple gets around $1.3 billion every year in search revenue from iOS devices. Morgan Stanley also weighed in, and researchers added that there could be a per-device payment in place to Apple that amounts to the yearly $1 billion without revenue share.

Turns out, there is some revenue share involved. It has been confirmed that there is 34% revenue share between the companies, but the documents don’t detail who gets the share. The best guess is Apple.

A report from last year out of Goldman Sachs estimated that Google earned about $12 billion in mobile search revenue. 75% of those figures come in from iOS devices. If this holds true, then Apple may have gotten more than $1 billion in 2015. The contract between both corporations is in full swing, although Microsoft and Yahoo are rumored to be getting into the race to become a new default search engine.

Deals Between These Competitors Are Mostly Kept on the Down Low

There were no other public statements released about the deals regarding Safari. It may have been renewed in 2015 in a covert meeting. Analysts do insist that Google might actually be better off without this kind of exclusivity deal with Apple since they might benefit from getting ‘switchback’ users.

Google Chrome is one of the most widely used web browsers in mobile and on the web. Naturally, people who use Chrome use the Google search engine. Many people would benefit from making a full switch to Chrome if Apple gets another platform as the default search engine.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Focuses on Charity

Microsoft also gave away $1 billion in cloud services to nonprofit organizations. The corporation is also gifting scholarships to a series of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Their goal is to empower as many communities as possible, regardless of whose default search engine or web browser they are.

Microsoft and Skype Become One, Google Hangouts Lags - http://clapway.com/2016/01/22/microsoft-and-skype-become-one-google-hangouts-lags-123/

Microsoft gets on in on Google Hangouts by updating Skype so that it can open Microsoft Office documents straight from the application. The merge with Microsoft Office also allows users to schedule calls.

Skype Gets Updated In an Attempt to Compete with Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts and Gchat are a very predominantly used platform for businesses. This is because Google has it all pretty much in one place – Hangouts, Docs, Sheets and everything else that’s part of Google Drive and Google Apps for Work. However, the desktop/laptop platform and mobile app are not nearly as popular as Skype. Microsoft is getting in on the action by bringing in some of the Microsoft Office suite to Skype and give people one more reason to get and use Skype on mobile.

Microsoft Gets Busy With Productivity

According to the official announcement, Skype is launching a few new features to make productivity easier and more accessible. Now users can schedule calls on a calendar that can sync to Outlook. Users can even schedule calls from Outlook. In addition, users that use the Microsoft Office suite can now easily open Excel spreadsheets from Skype. They can also open Word documents and Powerpoint presentations to leaf through when they are sent through a chat or group chat. Customers will be able to seamlessly open the Office apps from Skype as well.

Updates for iOS and Windows Phone Are Yet to Be Announced

Right now, the update is only out for Android users. There has been no announcement on when this update will roll out to iOS or Windows Phone, but it could be sooner than people expect. Attracting Windows users is a priority for the company since Microsoft is their parent company. The company is still enhancing the updates for Windows 10 in order to access the Windows Phone platform and optimize it.

Will The Platform Lose Out to Google Hangouts?

Since Skype is the only widespread video calling app on mobile, it’ll take a few punches for Google Hangouts to catch up. If the Google Hangout mobile app gets upgraded in a similar scale, then we’ll see an interesting competition between the two platforms.

Apple Makes Jobs While Microsoft Does Charity, Fish or Rod? - http://clapway.com/2016/01/21/apple-makes-jobs-while-microsoft-does-charity-fish-or-rod-123/

Apple has announced the opening of an App Development Center in Italy, making ways for a million new jobs in Europe. Microsoft has made a few, too. The company had absolutely no presence in the European data exploring the market.

Apple Makes Jobs Instead of Taxes

Analysts and economic strategists are still scrutinizing the move. The surge of App Economy jobs only came after the App Store was launched in 2008, it has grown exponentially. The job market is completely different thanks to the surge of these kinds of jobs.

After 2008, Apple has brought 242,000 App Economy jobs to the United Kingdom, 209,000 to Germany, 163,000 to France and 96,000 to the Netherlands. Apple has declared that they currently employ 6,500 people in the United Kingdom directly, and cites almost 646,000 registered developers.

European Developers Are the ‘Most Creative’

Developers in the European region have earned more than $11 billion in app sales, according to Apple. The company takes 30% of these earnings. 75% of App Economy employees in the region are part of the iOS platform. That makes for 1.2 million jobs. Android also claims to hold 75% of App Economy jobs. Microsoft Windows Phone only holds 9% and Blackberry holds 6%.

It’s obvious that Android, Microsoft, and Blackberry are seriously lacking. The companies don’t have a very serious presence in Europe in the smartphone industry, but it could change soon. This can be because of the incredible popularity that the iPhone received since its inception.

What Does the New Data Center Mean for Apple, Google, and Microsoft?

The new iOS App Development Center will be opening in Naples, Italy. It will further boost the European App economy, offering fresh skills and training in app development for the iOS ecosystem. Apple CEO Tim Cook has openly described European developers as some of the most creative in the world, so the company is excited about the new branch. Since the opening of the App Store, Apple claims they created more than 1.4 million jobs for Europe. They are hoping to continue bringing new opportunities to the region.

Google and Microsoft don’t have as solid of a presence in the continent. Thanks to the opening of this center, it’s possible that this will change. Or in a different turn of events, Microsoft might choose a different venue. It’s possible that both companies open branches in India instead.

Microsoft Challenges Apple and Google to Donate - http://clapway.com/2016/01/20/microsoft-challenges-apple-and-google-to-donate-cloud-services-123/

Microsoft is planning to donate $1 billion in cloud services to communities who can’t currently afford it. Over three years, the corporation is planning to collaborate with private organizations and a few teams of researchers to give access to these communities to Microsoft’s cloud services. Will Apple and Google follow up with similar initiatives?

Long Term Perks Out of Charity Should Tempt Google and Apple Too

This is an easy way to get long-term users on the Microsoft cloud platform, so it’s not just an act made out of pure kindness. It’s mainly a win-win deal. The corporation is a strong believer in giving as many communities as possible cloud access. This gives people access to many valuable resources that are currently only accessible to rich societies.

In short words, Microsoft wants to empower everybody. There’s much to be learned in cloud computing, and these services connect people to valuable data, intelligence and analytics on it.

Google is working very hard on getting more people connected, with ventures like Project Loon and Project Ara. They have a slightly different approach than the Redmond-based company, but they’re also connecting entire countries. Apple is hard at work on making its factories greener by moving to make all factories fully sustainable in China.

Microsoft Philanthropies Take Nonprofits Under Their Wing

The company has designated a new arm dedicated to philanthropy. This office will be giving a full suite of cloud services to nonprofits. The services include Microsoft Azure, Enterprise Mobility Suite and additional data on the cloud.

The goal is to help out 70,000 nonprofits by the end of 2017. After that, the scope will get larger. Already in 2016, Microsoft is expecting to donate about $350 million to nonprofits in cloud services. These donations will be expanding by 50% to go to the Microsoft Azure for Research programs. The corporation will be using TV white spaces for last mile connectivity and bring cloud services to underserved communities over the globe.

Will Microsoft Get the Same Treatment Facebook Got?

Regardless of whether or not Microsoft has a secret agenda, this is an extremely positive move. Other tech companies have been criticized for giving away such charity, like Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg’s Free Basics initiative wasn’t met positively in India, but Microsoft isn’t imposing a system upon people. They are only offering it. For a long time, the company has been pushing for their cloud services to be used more in more places. They have been setting up data centers in certain countries to collaborate with local governments, which is very different from what Mark Zuckerberg tried to do. Hopefully, their efforts will be successful, and more countries will be better connected.

Top 7 Tech Skills That Could Turn You Into Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates - http://clapway.com/2016/01/20/top-7-tech-skills-that-could-make-you-another-mark-zuckerberg-or-bill-gates/

Who would not enjoy as much money as Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates have? Everyone would love that honor, and here are seven tech skills that could accomplish this:

#1 UML

Unified Modeling Language (UML) can be thought of as a program for constructing complex software designs. This skill could garner you over $101,000.

#2 POWERBUILDER

We come to another software development tool, and this one is intended to develop Windows apps. PowerBuilder is a little older than other tools, but it could get you, at least, $102,000.

#3 SILVERLIGHT

Silverlight is basically Microsoft’s version of Adobe Flash, and is another skill that could make you Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg Jr! Unfortunately, the company has made no bones about the fact that Silverlight is limited. It could still get you over $103,000, but if you do not have the skills now it might be too late.

#4 CISSP

Now, we move to a very important aspect to computing, computer security. This is not an easy process, and if you can garner the skills for it then Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg could become jealous of you!

#5 CLOJURE

This next money-making tech skill is an old programming language. Well, it is, at least, a modern version of an old programming language. Clojure is a 2007 version of the language known as Lisp and is worth at least $108,000.

#6 PMP CERTIFICATION

A certification that could gain you, at least, $108,000, the PMP is a very high-level document. The only way to achieve this certification is to complete at least 4,500 hours of project management. It does not stop there because once you get it, you have to work hard to keep it.

#7 PEOPLESOFT

The best tech skill to have to achieve the status of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg is PeopleSoft. The demand for IT’s who can manage these apps is high, and could give you, at least, $110,000.

Microsoft and Minecraft Hit the Classroom - http://clapway.com/2016/01/19/microsoft-and-minecraft-hit-the-classroom-123/

Microsoft acquired Mojang, best known for making Minecraft, back in 2014. After releasing an incredibly successful app version of the game, Microsoft and Minecraft are headed to kid’s classrooms.

Step Aside, Google and Apple – Microsoft Brings Minecraft to the Classroom

Google and Apple have a solid hold when it comes to educational apps and platforms. Microsoft is hoping to get some of that spotlight. The company is launching MinecraftEdu, which is a revamped version of the beloved game, especially for educational use. The platform is already in use in over 40 countries and 7,000 classrooms altogether.

MinecraftEdu was developed Teacher Gaming, a Finnish startup. Microsoft is now making moves to acquire the platform though they did not share details on how much they were paying for it. The corporation has said that they are not looking to acquire the young Finnish company.

Minecraft is for Everyone

The very premise of the original Minecraft game is accessible when it comes to education. The game is about building, and it teaches basic concepts about anatomy, earth sciences, math, and literature. Its applications are easy to connect with children in elementary or middle school. Some institutions use the platform to recreate historical sites and events. Other instructors have used it for scientific applications, where students showed understanding of circuit building.

Some people just play Minecraft for fun. Although the game has a pretty retro look and feel, there are many die-hard fans all over the world. The recently released game app is the top paid app on the Google Play and Apple Store. What’s more, Minecraft is the best-selling PC game of all time. There are over 5 billion hours of Minecraft gameplay on YouTube, with more than 160 million views.

Can Microsoft Kick Apple and Google Out of Schools?

By acquiring MinecraftEdu, Microsoft has one more way to take advantage of the success of the game. This also brings Microsoft to the eyes of children, who can recognize an iPhone or iPad faster than anyone. The corporation does have platforms like Office 365 Education available for free for teachers and students, as well as Skype. But they face a lot of competition from Google, whose Apps for Education are being used by more than 50 million students. An Education Edition of Minecraft would bring Microsoft more presence in the education sector.

This edition of the game can be accessed from a school-wide platform with a log-in ID in any school computer or personal device would cost $5 annually per student for full access to the game. This might encounter some criticism because it will narrow the amount of schools willing or able to bring it into their classrooms. Discounts will be available.

Microsoft Comes for Apple with New Word Flow Keyboard - http://clapway.com/2016/01/18/microsoft-comes-for-apple-with-new-word-flow-keyboard-123/

Standard issue keyboards on smartphones are not for everyone. Microsoft is bringing in an option for Apple and Android devices with the new Word Flow Keyboard.

Google Play Store and Apple App Store Now Feature Microsoft Keyboard

Microsoft has released a default virtual keyboard, on par with ‘Swype’ and ‘Fleksy’. The keypad software, which will be available for Android and iOS. The Word Flow keyboard is currently in beta after certain users were invited to join via email.

Word Flow Keyboard Has a Guinness World Record

Actually, the Word Flow keyboard has been praised in the Windows Phone. It even has the Guinness World Record for ‘fastest texting’. Microsoft is planning to roll out the keyboard to iOS first. The keyboard features shape writing, which enables users to write text quickly and without having to lift their fingers from the screen. This gave the Word Flow keyboard much of its acclaim. The default iOS keyboard doesn’t feature Swype-style typing.

This is a clear sign that Microsoft wants to expand as a software services company. The tech giant started out by launching Cortana, the Windows virtual assistant, on iOS and Android in 2015. Outlook is also available on both mobile platforms. The most popular of Microsoft’s software babies is probably Skype, which has been available for Android and iOS for a long time.

Will the Keyboard App Trend Stick with Apple?

It’s yet to be seen if there’s any space for Microsoft in the world of software services. There could be some people that are dissatisfied with the iOS or Android keyboards, but it’s not a popular belief. Bringing in Windows 10 apps to Android and iOS can only be beneficial, especially for businesses who use Windows platforms.

Apple is a more far-fetched target. It looks like Microsoft has the Apple default keyboard as their main contender, but it’s not likely that it’ll stick. Keyboard apps are more popular with Android, so the new keyboard might become popular there. There haven’t been details shared on when the keyboard will launch. According to analysts, it’s likely that the app will come out within the next few months.

Microsoft HoloLens Could Take Out Google Glass - http://clapway.com/2016/01/18/microsoft-hololens-could-take-out-google-glass-123/

Apple, Facebook and Sony are all about VR. Microsoft is taking a different approach with their HoloLens by taking a stab on Google Glass. Microsoft is choosing to focus more on augmented reality.

Microsoft Dishes Some HoloLens Details

Not much is known about the details of the HoloLens headset itself. Recently, Technical Evangelist Bruce Harris revealed that the HoloLens may not be wired at all. In addition, he shared that Microsoft is already working on a second-generation version of the headset.

Going wireless is for the best. When it comes to AR or VR, having the freedom to move is the essence of the experience. The headset will be connecting to other devices via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

HoloLens Combines the Best of AR and VR

The features of the HoloLens put it in a seriously competitive position. The headset will be able to run any Windows 10 app and can pair up with other headsets to communicate. Users can even share what they’re seeing with other headsets. The device’s battery life is expected to run for 5.5 hours on basic usage. With more intense usage, users will get a minimum 2.5-hour life. Microsoft had to sacrifice quite a bit for this kind of battery life.

The actual vision is akin to having a 15″ screen right in front of your eyes. This may be small in comparison to other AR headsets. The second generation HoloLens might have the technology and materials to bring in something bigger. Nothing has been shared in regards to price though the developer kit is tagged for $3,000. The retail price will hopefully be more accessible.

What of Google Glass?

Google Glass was in the spotlight for a good fifteen minutes. These fifteen minutes revealed that the world just wasn’t ready for smart glasses. The HoloLens comes in as a combination of the Google Glass and the premise of VR headsets, and it could sell exceptionally better.

Google is reportedly working on a second-generation of Google Glass as well. There is buzz that they may even release two versions, one geared specifically for sports and fitness. Pricing and specs are still AWOL for this, but it could give Google some support in this market.

Top Three Reasons Why Bill Gates is Better Than Steve Jobs - http://clapway.com/2016/01/17/top-three-reasons-why-bill-gates-is-better-than-steve-jobs/

There is no doubt that both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs will be remembered forever. However, we think that Bill Gates is the better of the two.

THERE ARE Three Reasons Why Bill Gates is Better Than Steve Jobs

REASON ONE: PRODUCTS

There is no denying that Steve Jobs created some of the best products of all-time including the iPad, the iPhone, and the iPod. The problem, though, is that these types of products were already in existence when he created them. Before the iPod, there were MP3 players. Before the iPad, there were several tablets. Lastly, before the iPhone, there were several smartphones. On the other hand, Bill Gates created the MS-DOS which became the standard system for running computers. Without this, computers would have probably never been the same.

Bill Gates Clapway

REASON TWO: PHILANTHROPY

Philanthropy is something that Bill Gates is extremely well known for, and something Steve Jobs was not a fan of. Gates started the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and he has donated more than $25 billion to philanthropy. He also convinced Warren Buffet to donate several billions of dollars toward it. Steve Jobs, on the other hand, actually was notorious for closing down his company’s philanthropy program.

REASON THREE: THE WAY GATES GAVE HIS MONEY

Gates is better not just for the fact that he donated so much money, but because of the way he donated the money. He does not slap his name on huge buildings and large institutions, instead, he figures out the best way to give his money away. He used the idea of return on investment to donate to philanthropy. Both of these creative geniuses deserve praise, but in the end, Bill Gates will be remembered as the better of the two. Is there really any shame in that? Think about it…

Top Six Embarrassing Apple Failures Microsoft Was Laughing At - http://clapway.com/2016/01/16/top-6-embarrassing-apple-failures-microsoft-was-laughing-at/

Apple is indeed a great company, but even the best have released products that have been a massive failure.

Apple is no exception, and here are six failures that Microsoft was no doubt laughing at.

FAILURE ONE: APPLE LISA

This home computer was one of Steve Jobs’ first devices and it never had a chance as the starting price for it was $10,000. Microsoft must have been laughing their tails off as soon as they saw the price.

FAILURE TWO: APPLE III

This next device was created way back in 1978, and it was a problem from the get go. The motherboard on this beast would overheat way too quickly, and it was a very buggy machine as well.

FAILURE THREE: ROKR

The ROKR was a phone that did not have a good shelf life. Jobs also could not have started this out any worse as when he presented it he could not switch the phone from taking a call, to playing music. Also, the phone only had 1 GB of memory, which was not good data capability.

FAILURE FOUR: 20TH ANNIVERSARY MAC

This next device was supposed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the company. However, yet again, the starting price of this computer scared people away. This Mac had a starting price of $8,000 but was eventually reduced to $2,000. This was one of the first computers to use an LCD screen, but that did not save it in the end.

FAILURE FIVE: MOBILEME

MobileMe was an absolutely colossal failure. It was so bad that Steve Jobs actually fired the man who was the head of this project, on the spot. Apparently, the manager of this project stated that because Jobs did not allow his employees to voice their concern, the issues could not be fixed.

FAILURE SIX: MACINTOSH TV

The Macintosh TV literally lasted around a year. I can just see the looks on the faces of the members of Microsoft when Apple released this TV. It would not even allow users to see a television feed through a desktop window.

Lil Wayne Could Weigh Into Snoop Dogg Feud with Microsoft, Bill Gates and Xbox - http://clapway.com/2016/01/16/snoop-dogg-lil-wayne-bill-gates-microsoft-and-xbox-on-instagram-123/

Xbox One servers were down for a while on Wednesday, and Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to diss Bill Gates, Microsoft and the Xbox One. The temporary outage fueled the rage of many.

Lil Wayne Clapway

Snoop Dogg Goes to Instagram to Rant

The short video has him ranting about the server being down for over seven hours. He even threatened Bill Gates himself that he would switch to the PlayStation 4 if the man didn’t take care of the problem. The PlayStation Network is no stranger to server outages, but it’s important for Xbox to remain popular with celebrities if they hope to ever outsell the PS4.

Snoop Dogg: ‘What the F*** Is You Doing, Bill Gates?’

The video, while not super aggressive in tone, was very aggressive verbally. The rapper urged Bill Gates, who is the founder, advisor and a board member at Microsoft, to get to the root of the problem. In the end, the issue wasn’t fixed, and seven hours later, the rapper reposted the video.

Other Celebrities Like Lil Wayne Could Also Quit

Microsoft made a single announcement on the outage, and it was to declare the server issue resolved. Still, taking so long to fix this kind of issue and causing this reaction can impact Microsoft negatively. Even other noted gamer celebrities like Lil Wayne could give the company bad rep, and bad sales.

Will Snoop Switch to the PS4?

Regardless of whether or not Snoop decides to switch to the PlayStation 4, his video can cause Microsoft a lot of harm. The company hasn’t been doing well in shaping up to Sony with their video game console. They need all of the positive representation they can get. Snoop Dogg is a man with a lot of hype on social media platforms. Making him angry is probably not something Microsoft wants.

It’d be no surprise if Snoop makes a follow-up video on Instagram after Microsoft sends him some kind of ‘sorry we screwed up’ presents in the form of some awesome merchandise. After all, business is mostly about marketing and advertising. Hopefully, Microsoft can find a way to use this to their advantage and get people excited about the Xbox. This isn’t the kind of kick off to 2016 that the company needs, especially when there are so many awesome things ahead for the Xbox console.

Yahoo Helping Out Universities, Will Google and Microsoft Join? - http://clapway.com/2016/01/15/yahoo-helping-out-univerities-will-google-and-microsoft-join-123/

The world’s tech giants are all coming together to boost artificial intelligence technology. Yahoo just set itself apart from Google and Microsoft. The company is releasing information on 20 million anonymous users for university use.

Yahoo Clapway

Understanding The Internet from Yahoo User’s Perspective

The data compiles every click ad scroll of 20 million users. This makes up a giant chunk of data. The goal? The company is probably looking to join hands with colleges and universities to study how users interact with online services. This can only bring about positive results.

The users themselves were taken out of a pool of Yahoo Sports, Finance, News, Real Estate and other pages. The compilation of data will only be available to universities, no exceptions. It’s expected to provide researchers with a better and more realistic outlook on internet behavior.

Yahoo is Behind Google and Microsoft

In the world of technology, Yahoo has been quiet. After acquiring Tumblr and Flickr, the company has stayed mostly in the sidelines. This is basically a move for Yahoo to attract some brain power and get ahead in the game of artificial intelligence. As things stand, the companies making the most headway are Facebook, Google, Toyota and Microsoft. The company seriously needs to do something or get trampled by the other company’s widening paths.

Recruiting academic talent is a basic part of research and development. Facebook and Google have notorious staff, and those are the minds that bring about success. Research and development of artificial intelligence require a very good understanding of deep learning and machine training. As such, Yahoo wants to get their hands on as many brains as possible. Their approach is very unique to say the least.

Data Sciences Are Attractive

This kind of data can certainly attract a few people and form a data sciences division for the company. There’s never a shortage of brains when it comes to technology companies. The amount of data that the company is releasing weighs exactly 13.5 TB. This can from a great base for machine learning to attract users.

This compression of data is pretty much bigger than anything else available to academic computer scientists. However, it’s possible that the company might join hands with Amazon or Alphabet for a cloud computing center. This much data can’t be stored in a university system alone. Carnegie Mellon University signed a five-year $10 million partnership with Yahoo in 2015. The university will be using this data to make personalized apps.

Tension Between Facebook, Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft

There’s a lot of tension among tech companies to get the best artificial intelligence teams available. From here to 2020, competition will be very heated. Yahoo is making positive headway in this respect, and it’s in its best interest to keep making headway.

The Ockel Sirius B Will Replace Microsoft Windows 10 PCs - http://clapway.com/2016/01/14/the-orckel-sirius-b-will-replace-microsoft-windows-10-pcs-123/

Pocket PCs are all the hype, and the new Ockel Sirius B might come to replace all Microsoft Windows 10 desktops one day. Pocket computers could even come to Apple. The new gadget costs a fraction of what a regular desktop does, but gives you top-level performance.

1. Ockel Sirius B 2 Clapway

Affordability Meets Portability and New Tech

The Ockel Sirius B is a Windows 10 Pocket PC that is extremely high compact. It is Intel -based and it has taken crowd funding websites by storm. The device costs $149 without an OS and only $169 for a Windows 10 version. Although this isn’t the only pocket PC on the market, not is it the cheapest, it’s the most efficient.

The phone is the size of the iPhone 6, at 123mmx79mmx11mm, and it weighs 120g. That’s pretty small and light. It features two HDMI ports, a couple of USB ports and has an in line for microphone and an out line for audio. It even supports microSD.

An Intel Powered Beast Even Microsoft Would Be Proud Of

The device is powered by an Intel Atom Bay-trail quad-core processor. It has 2GB of RaM and Intel HD graphics. It also features 32GB or storage, dual-band 802..11 a/b/g/n/ Wi-Fi, and supports Bluetooth 4.0.

The company behind the Sirius B has become one of the fastest growing tech companies in the Netherlands. They are surely bringing some wonderful changes to the idea of a PC. It’d be no surprise if the company made ties with Microsoft in order to develop more Windows 10 devices. Seeing as the device’s campaign was funded 2936%, it’s clear that this is a new trend. Not only that, but it is also a profitable pursuit.

Will Apple Ever Have Stick Computers?

PC sticks have become more popular due to their portability, but there aren’t any available for Mac just yet. Apple could join in on the trend eventually, though, and carry their own Mac sticks. This kind of technology is obviously something people are actively seeking out, so it would make perfect sense for tech giants to jump in. Who knows, Microsoft may even acquire Ockel Products and give them full reign over the future of their pocket PCs.

Microsoft Working to Make Bing Faster Than Google - http://clapway.com/2016/01/13/microsoft-working-to-make-bing-faster-than-google-123/

Microsoft is bringing in a Bing update that will let ou test your internet connection directly from the search engine. With Google, you need an alternate website. It looks like Microsoft will do whatever it takes to make Bing more attractive than Google’s magnanimous search engine.

Speed Test Tool on Bing Might Lure In More Users

The update gives you a live reading of your internet connection, which is important information for many users globally. Needless to say, it’s a unique feature among web browser platforms. Typing ‘internet speed test’ into the search engine will prompt a widget that will directly display internet speed readings. It also offers an overview of the user’s IP address, latency and download and upload speeds.

The company has a similar ‘Network Speed Test’ app for Windows, but this update makes it more widespread. The update has only been found on the web, but it’ll surely make its way to mobile apps and the mobile Bing site. Getting a speed test is not like looking up just anything, and Microsoft is reducing the number of steps that get you to the information you really want to know.

Microsoft Brings in Emoji Search and Snake to Get People Off Google Chrome

Microsoft is also one-upping Google by making Bing the first to support emoji search. In a time like this, this is a huge move. Bing is even incorporating the game Snake onto is platform. The corporation is obviously trying really hard to get users away from Google Chrome and inspire them to use Bing.

Will this work? Most likely not. It does, however, show that Microsoft is taking its search engine very seriously. More updates will come in and make Bing more competitive. It could one day come to replace Internet Explorer, or even become the combination of Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer to give Microsoft a signature web browser. Seeing as Bing has gotten good reviews as a standalone web platform and as an app, there’s no reason why this couldn’t do Microsoft well. 2016 could be a year full of surprises for the corporation, and it could get back into the race for the best web browser.

Microsoft Wants You to Use Internet Explorer, Not Chrome or Safari - http://clapway.com/2016/01/12/microsoft-wants-you-to-use-internet-explorer-not-chrome-or-safari-123/

It looks like Microsoft is giving up on Internet Explorer, but only to compete with Apple Safari, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. The company has officially announced that they will stop supporting all older versions of the browser. Users are being officially forced to update to Internet Explorer 11 or Edge before today.

Older versions of the browser might make users vulnerable to hackers. As such, the corporation has officially decided to stop supporting older versions of the browser. Upgrading to the latest version of the Windows browser will give users a more efficient way to surf the web. They will be safer from bugs and viruses. Otherwise, customers risk being exposed to malware and hackers.

The Company Has Been Trying to Drop the Browser Since March 2015

The final straw came when Microsoft announced it would release an update with the final bug fixes and an ‘End of Life’ notification that will ask users to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer. In the announcement, the company declared that the latest version of the browser will follow the current component policy. This means that it will follow the support lifecycle of the Windows OS that the device has installed.

The first warnings of ending support for older browsers came in August of 2014. Because users still used outdated versions of Internet Explorer, the company has made this move. Microsoft has also downgraded Internet Explorer to legacy status. This means that as of March 2015, Internet Explorer was only useful for business compatibility.

Do People Even Choose to Use IE Over Chrome, Safari and Firefox?

Microsoft is slowly killing the unpopular browser, but only to encourage the spread of Microsoft Edge. The company has lost a lot of market shares to Chrome and Safari. By making this move, they are one step closer to bringing a new major browser on the market. Currently, the most used browsers are Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox.

By supporting only Internet Explorer 11 and onwards, Microsoft has the chance to get rid of Internet Explorer completely. The next step would be to make the upgrade to Microsoft Edge a mandatory one, and its platforms can come with built-in Edge on all machines.

Nintendo Brings Back Pokemon Red and Blue to Beat Xbox and PlayStation - http://clapway.com/2016/01/12/nintendo-brings-back-pokemon-red-and-blue-to-beat-microsoft-xbox-and-sony-playstation-123/

1996 was an incredibly important year for Nintendo because it marked the beginning of an era with Pokemon. The Xbox and Playstation couldn’t measure up to its success. 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon Red and Blue titles.

Nintendo Releases 3DS Bundle with Pokemon Red and Blue

Pokemon will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in more than one way. To start, Nintendo Company announced the release of a Super Bowl ad on February 7. There are no details on what it will show. But it’s certainly going to be about the world’s favorite pocket monsters and encourage them to ‘train on’.

On February 27, Nintendo will release a special 3DS bundle. It will feature a themed gaming console with either Red or Blue, and come with the chosen theme game pre-installed. The games will also be sold separately on the 3DS e-shop. The console’s menu theme will be specially customized with the theme of the game chosen as well.

Great Promotions Come to North America And Japan

Fans thought this promotion would only be available in Japan, but it has effectively been announced to hit North America. This is only the second time this happens after Nintendo brought over an Animal Crossing themed 3DS bundle in the summer of 2015. Japan will also have the option of choosing themed 2DS featuring the Red, Blue Green and Pikachu/Yellow of the game series. This will go live on February 27 as well.

Other promotions are lined up for 2016 courtesy of this franchise. There will be some limited edition amiibos coming back. These may include Charizard, Jigglypuff, Greninja and Lucario. There will also be an expansion released for the Pokemon trading card game. This game will launch at the end of February. Pokemon will also host the release of 12 Pokemon animated films on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.

Can Xbox and Playstation Mess with Pokemon?

Pokemon is one of the most beloved franchises in history. It spans across many different platforms and has brought millions of people together. Nintendo may have had a bad slump since the release of the Wii U, but it is definitely making a comeback.

Not only is Nintendo releasing more goodies and the anticipated VR game Pokemon Go, but it is also releasing Pokken Tournament on Wii U. By the end of the decade, the Japanese game maker will also have released a brand new console. It looks like it’ll be a great few years for Nintendo, regardless of what goes on with the Xbox or PlayStation.

Seven Facts That make Google Hangouts Better Than Microsoft Skype - http://clapway.com/2016/01/12/seven-facts-that-make-google-hangouts-better-than-microsoft-skype/

Both Google Hangouts and Skype offer users a good platform for communication. However, here are seven reasons why Google Hangouts is better than Skype from Microsoft.

There Are 7 facts That Make Google Hangouts better than Microsoft Skype

REASON 1: GROUP VIDEO

Sometimes meetings need to take place over the internet. Well, Google Hangouts makes this easy as they offer up to 10 people communicating on one feed for free. However, while Skype offers up to 25 people in one feed, it must be paid for.

REASON 2: BANDWIDTH

Microsoft has been known to have bandwidth issues with Skype. At times, it can get downright ridiculous, but Hangouts does not have these issues. Not only this but they also offer a feature that allows users to reduce the bandwidth.

REASON 3: CALLS ARE FREE

While both of these platforms offer phone calls, Google Hangouts does not charge their users for it. However, Microsoft requires their users to pay a certain amount per minute.

REASON 4: UBERCONFERENCE

Google Hangouts is integrated into something that Skype is not and that is Uberconference. This allows users, who use this platform, to call a conference number and be added to the video participants.

REASON 5: IT’S FREE

Let’s be honest for a second, Skype can be used without paying for it. However, there are limitations if users want to do that. This is not the case with Hangouts as all of the features are free. This is quite apparent with video conferencing with more than one person.

REASON 6: SCREENSHARING

Screensharing is yet another feature that both of these platforms can achieve. However, it is much easier to achieve in Google Hangouts. Not only this but it can be set up before you even call somebody.

REASON 7: GOOGLE DOCS

This one is big for conversations that include needing to edit a document. Google Docs allows any users to edit documents in real-time. You will not find this ability with Skype.

Top Five Lazy Inventions Microsoft or Samsung Could Invent - http://clapway.com/2016/01/12/top-five-lazy-inventions-microsoft-or-samsung-could-invent/

Microsoft and Samsung are always looking for bigger and better. Well, how about lazier? Here are a few inventions that these two companies could invent.

There Are Five Lazy Inventions Microsoft or Samsung Could Invent

NUMBER 1: THE SELF-LACING SHOES

I think everyone remembers Back to the Future, right? Well, if you are amongst the minority that does not, in the second part Marty Mcfly had his self-lacing shoes from 2015. Self-lacing shoes are no doubt the best shoes for lazy people, and Samsung and Microsoft could make a couple of bucks with it.

NUMBER 2: SELFYTHE EASY BED

Staying on the subject of self-working inventions, the next invention these two companies could invent is Selfy the Easy Bed. This bed actually makes itself and prevents the hassle of having to make it yourself. Boy, this world is just getting lazier and lazier isn’t?

NUMBER 3: THE LAZY READING GLASSES

Are you sensing a theme in these inventions? Anyway, this one is right up the alley of Microsoft and Samsung. These glasses allow people to read a magazine, or a book, without even lifting their heads. If these two companies could get their hands on this, they could even install novels and magazines inside the glasses.

NUMBER 4: DUST MOP SLIPPERS

What’s the point of wasting your time and cleaning your floor? Just slip on a pair of dust mop slippers and clean the floor with your feet. Samsung and Microsoft could definitely add technology to these slippers to further their convenience.

NUMBER 5: THE CONTROL, ALT, DELETE BAR

This one is just plain lazy! For those of you who are unaware, the most convenient way for users to bring up the Task Manager on Windows is by pressing Control, Alt, and Delete. Doing this will allow users to access all of the tasks that the computer is currently partaking in. However, apparently where they are located on the computer is too far away for some people. Well, now all three buttons are available on one bar which is the epitome of lazy.

Seven Reasons Why Apple is Better than Microsoft - http://clapway.com/2016/01/11/seven-reasons-why-apple-is-better-than-microsoft/

Whether or not you prefer Apple or Microsoft is a matter of opinion. However, we will give you seven reasons why Apple provides a better computing experience.

So, Why Apple is Better than Microsoft?

REASON 1: SECURITY

This one is quite apparent as there are several more PC-based security attacks than there are Mac-based security attacks. Apple provides a much more secure computing experience than Microsoft does.

REASON 2: SOFTWARE

Now, both PC’s and Mac’s have excellent software packages available for their users. However, Apple provides amazing software straight out of the box. Some of these software packages include iMovie, Keynote, iTunes, Maps, FaceTime, and much more.

REASON 3 : QUALITY OF BUILD

Mac’s are amongst the most powerful and top-grade machines that are built. The attention to detail on Mac’s is unprecedented, and this makes for a very enjoyable computing experience. Now, obviously this means that Mac’s are expensive, but the way that they are built makes them worth it.

REASON 4: AMOUNT OF PC’S TO CHOOSE FROM

This reason may be nitpicking a little bit, but it does deserve noting. There are a ridiculous amount of PC’s available on the market. Many would think that this is a good thing, but, in this case, more is not good. On the flip side, there are around six different Mac computers that can be customized to the users liking.

REASON 5: SCREENS

The screens that are present on Mac’s make them irresistible. Their screens feature no air gap and anti-reflective coatings. These two aspects make the screen from Apple the top dog on the market. Not only this but PC’s have been known to have scaling issues on their screens.

REASON 6: CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Apple is definitely going to make sure that their users are satisfied with their product. Users will find that they offer both a 90-day phone support promise and a one-year warranty on a variety of their products. It does not end there though because users can get in contact with them using online tools.

REASON 7: USER SATISFACTION

No matter what product is being sold, the most important aspect is user satisfaction. Apple saw their Mac be at the top of all customer satisfaction surveys. This reason should top all of the others, and you could just say user satisfaction is the main reason Apple is better than Microsoft.
