Top 4 Waterproof Gadgets, GoPro is One of Them - http://clapway.com/2016/01/26/top-4-waterproof-gadgets-gopro-is-one-of-them/

Whoever was the genius that decided to make a waterproof gadget (like GoPro) should be honored. Let’s face it, sometimes people get their technology devices wet. It is not like we do it on purpose, but sometimes we drop our devices in water. The great thing for us clumsy people is that companies, like GoPro, have made waterproof gadgets.

GADGET 1

Who needs to have all of their devices waterproof? Why not have a waterproof bag that will protect all of your devices, no matter if they are waterproof? Well, if you get the Phantom Aquatics Premium Waterproof Backpack Dry Bag then you can have these advantages. This bag is completely waterproof, and it actually looks like an actual backpack. This pack will also float in the water, and it promises to keep your devices safe.

GADGET 2

Next, we have the GoScope GoPro Hero Telescoping Pole. This device is intended to be both waterproof and snowproof. This telescope can actually hold two cameras at one time, and has an adjustable wrist strap for easy handling.

GADGET 3

The worry of your iPhone getting damaged with water is over with this product. The LifeProof Fre iPhone 6 Case, besides keeping your iPhone safe from harm, will allow you to shoot videos and take photos while you are immersed in water. There are limitations on the depth and length you can immerse this product in water, but it is indeed waterproof.

GADGET 4

Sometimes, when you are taking a bath or chilling alongside the pool, you want to listen to music. The only issue is the fact that if your headphones get wet, they are ruined. However, with the BOOM Swimmer Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Speaker the need for that worry is gone. It should be noted that these can only be immersed in water for a maximum 20 minutes.

Top Five Reasons Why GoPro is Better Than the iPhone Camera - http://clapway.com/2016/01/18/top-five-reasons-why-gopro-is-better-than-the-iphone-camera/

Both the iPhone camera and the GoPro camera are competent. However, the GoPro camera, in the end, is better than the iPhone camera. This analysis has nothing to do with specs, it has to do with convenience.

REASON 1: STREET HARASSMENT

Many of you are probably wondering how this has anything to do with whether the GoPro is better than the iPhone. Well, there is an intriguing story about a man who uses his GoPro camera to document street harassment. The footage he gathers shows some eye-opening content. Doing this could help put these rotten people behind bars.

REASON 2: THE PET POV

Since none of us will ever know what it feels like to be a pet, the pet POV that the GoPro camera offers is awesome. All that is needed is their Fetch dog harness mount, and you can see the life through your pet’s eyes. Let’s see if the iPhone camera does something like that.

REASON 3: EASY FOR KIDS TO USE

The simplicity and durability of this camera make it so you can give it to children, and you don’t have to worry about it being broken. You could also strap the camera to your child, and get to experience their day.

REASON 4: UNDERWATER FOOTAGE

One of the coolest features to the GoPro is the fact that it is waterproof. So, you can document photos and videos immersed in 100 feet of water!

REASON 5: BURST MODE

Burst mode allows users to take multiple photos in a matter of seconds. So, try this one out. Launch your camera into the air while using burst mode, and see what you come up with. Chances are you will see some great content taken. The iPhone camera clearly has a long way to go before it can hang with this camera.

New GoPro HERO 4 is The Best Camera When You Use it With GoPro Gimbal - http://clapway.com/2015/12/25/new-gopro-hero-4-is-the-best-camera-when-you-use-it-with-gopro-gimbal/

GoPro is almost set and ready to release their new GoPro gimbal. This will be the world’s very first rainproof 3-axis gimbal equipped with Bluetooth technology. This will also make the already impressive GoPro HERO 4 even better.

12. GoPro Clapway

WHAT THE GOPRO GIMBAL IS

This device, as mentioned earlier, is a 3-axis gimbal. A gimbal is a pivoted support that allows an object to rotate on a single axis. However, the GoPro Gimbal will have 3 axes. This can be mounted anywhere that a GoPro can be mounted. So, it can be mounted on bikes, on your helmet, or even on yourself. There is also a detachable hand grip so users can control the device from a good distance. It is officially called the REMOVU S1, and it looks like it is a terrific gimbal for anybody.

THE KEY POINTS TO THE GOPRO GIMBAL

As stated previously, this gimbal has integrated Bluetooth technology. When a user removes the detachable wireless joystick, you can alter the angle of the camera and also change modes. The gimbal will also be very easy to mount and dismount. It takes only one-click to mount the gimbal, and the same click to dismount it. Users will not have to worry about the gimbal getting wet either. The device is built to be water resistant, and will hold up under very poor weather conditions. LED displays are also present on the gimbal for the interface.

THE GOPRO HERO 4 AMONG THOSE COMPATIBLE

The list of cameras that will be compatible with this device has also been revealed. The HERO 3, HERO 3+, HERO 4, and HERO 4 Session are all the cameras compatible. The Xiomi Xi camera may be compatible in the future, though. Now that this gimbal can be used with the HERO 4, there is no reason to believe why it will not be the most must have camera on the market.

THE GOPRO GIMBAL BATTERY

The battery powering this gimbal will have a pretty good battery life as well. The company did not have an official answer, but they said 3-4 hours of battery life can be expected. They also stated that a dock charger would be included with the gimbal to charge the battery. Also, for those looking for a longer battery life, extra batteries will be able to be purchased.

WHEN TO EXPECT THE GOPRO GIMBAL

The company has announced that they are still in the development stage of their gimbal. They did just produce their first design sample recently, though. It is expected that mass production will begin in February of 2016. Then, the delivery will begin in March of 2016. This device has been worked on since January of this year. It has been a year of hard work from GoPro to give the world an amazing gimbal.

GOPRO STILL ASKS FOR HELP Clapway

GOPRO STILL ASKS FOR HELP

GoPro is still asking for users to help. They ask for your donations for their project. They mention how they need everyone’s help to bring the most stabilization and control it can to the gimbal. The exterior and interior design have been finished by the company. All that is left now is for them to finalize the product, but they need help from everyone to do it.

Mokacam 4K Camera is Smaller Than the Smallest GoPro - http://clapway.com/2015/12/24/mokacam-4k-camera-is-smaller-than-the-smallest-gopro-123/

A new product out of Hong Kong brings us the Mokacam: the world’s smallest 4K camera. The tiny device gives us full 4K ultra HD footage right from the palms of our hands. It looks like the selfie-stick trend will be short-lived after all.

4K Camera Clapway

The Mokacam Could Kick GoPro Off the Market

This project is well on its way to becoming a top bidder in the photography industry. The Mokacam is tiny, just 45mm by 45mm, and it weighs 79 grams. The only camera in the world that is smaller is the Hero 4 Session, and it still doesn’t support 4K Ultra HD video. It features a rotating screen, snap-on batteries, motion detection and Wi-Fi. It is also waterproof and has a 16 MP sensor.

The Mokacam shoots 4K at 15FPS, which matches it to the Hero 4 Silver at a quarter of the size. It’s also significantly cheaper, set to go on the market for $169. Compare this to any other GoPro, priced at least at $300, and you’ve got yourself an awesome deal.

Looped Recording Thanks to Snap-On Batteries

The Mokacam doesn’t need to be plugged into anything to charge. The device comes with small battery packs that need only need to be snapped onto the back of the camera. It’ll latch on like a magnet and users will have 4 more hours of footage, no wiring or pausing required!

This camera can also be submerged 60 meters underwater to capture all kinds of adventures. That is the deepest distance out of any of its competitors. It’s pretty much the perfect gadget to take on a trip anywhere, as users can also take it sky high to record your adventures.

Mokacam Reinvents Selfies

Bored of your selfie sticks? Mokacam comes with a magnet built in. This means that anywhere with metal can be your selfie stick or tripod.

In fact, this little guy can even work as your security camera. It has a motion detecting sensor built in, so it can keep your home safe wirelessly and without the need for a change of battery for up to 8 hours.

This Tiny Camera Packs a Mean Punch

It can record anything from normal to wide angle and features a rotating screen. It can even record and play back in slow motion. The unit comes with a stabilizer for the best performance possible. The device can be paired with an application that allows users to upload and share footage in seconds, from anywhere with internet connection.

What’s Next, a 10mm Camera?

These devices are only getting smaller and more compact. From gadgets like the Mokacam we can expect to see cameras that we’ve only seen in spy movies and Inspector Gadget. It’s probably all worth it. The trend in technology is to make everything smaller and more compact, pocketable but with considerable power.

GoPro Respond Clapway

How Will GoPro Respond to this Threat?

Recently things have had a slight change, with the rise of the iPad Pro and the bigger iPhone 6 and 6s series. In the end, it’s all about good functionality and less bulkiness. If this project hits the market before GoPro releases a competing project, the company could be in serious trouble. This camera shows great promise of being the next huge thing. What’s more, its price is unbeatable compared to other devices on the market.

GoPro, who is planning on releasing their drone-powered camera sometime in the next year, has some serious work to do if they are looking to continue to compete in the action camera industry. While they may have no equals in terms of drone footage just yet, they could be in trouble if they let Mokacam slide into the race like this.

GoPro Karma Drone Will Take Over the Drone Market - http://clapway.com/2015/12/10/gopro-karma-drone-will-take-over-the-drone-market123/

GoPro has been slowly announcing the release of its first drone, the GoPro Karma drone. The company released a teaser video commercial this week and announced that they’ll be giving away 100 Karmas once it officially hits the market.

gopro karma drone

GoPro Karma Drone Takes the Best Footage Out of Any Quadcopter

Last October, GoPro released footage from the Karma drone, which showed gorgeous images. The latest teaser features the same footage; but this time backed by dramatic music and a voiceover narration. There haven’t been any specs released for it; in fact, there aren’t even any images of the quadcopter out yet.

The GoPro Drone Karma is set to launch at some point in 2016. But there is no official date yet. Winners of the company’s 100 drone giveaway will be chosen by April 15, 2016, and the drones are set to roll out before December 31, 2016. As such, it’s likely that the gadget’s release date is within that window though analysts predict that a first-quarter launch is more likely.

Karma Drone is A Serious Threat

GoPro equipment has always been the reliable brand, especially when it comes to sports or heavy activity footage. The Karma drone will be a very competitive device once it launches, and it is not very likely that there will be a drone that can compete with it. That is unless people attach phones with heavy megapixel capacity onto their drones.

The GoPro Karma Drone is a great competitor for the drone market, and the gadget will likely be one of the trendiest of next year. GoPro will surely have many more announcements to make throughout the year, as it tackles the photography market in a bigger way than it ever has before. Limitations of drones have yet to be set out, so this is likely the best time for people to invest in drones and manufacture them.

Ambarella GoPro is a big Disappointment - http://clapway.com/2015/12/05/ambarella-gopro-is-a-big-disappointment/

Ambarella has just released their numbers for the current quarter. Let’s just say that it was not good for them. The company revealed that their revenue for the current quarter came in between $65 and $67.5 million. However, the problem is Wall Street revealed that their expectations were $76 million. $65 million is quite a lot of money, but $11 million short is not going to cut it.

Ambarella GoPro

AMBARELLA NEEDS MORE THAN JUST GOPRO

Ambarella is a technology company that produces video compression and image processing products for various companies. The biggest company they make products for is GoPro. They power the GoPro cameras with their HD video cameras and HD video broadcasting technology. However, the time may be now for them to make products for a bigger company due to these latest numbers from them. Right now, they are depending on the GoPro cameras too much.

WILL AMBARELLA’S SHARES GO UP?

If they branch out and partner with another company, then they might be able to get their stock shares back up. However, if they stay where they are there is no reason to believe that their shares will increase. As we speak, their shares are down 3% and their shares have been lowered by around $4 per and unless they prove that they can depend on more than one company it might not change.

WILL AMBARELLA LOOK THE OTHER WAY?

It will be very interesting to see in the future if another company decides to have Ambarella make their video and image products. There is no need for them to just completely drop GoPro, but they might need to consider expanding past them. Right now, they are simply known as the company that makes products for GoPro. The bottom line is, this needs to change or more success will not happen.

A lost #GoPro attached to a weather #balloon launched near the #GrandCanyon in 2013 finally found its way back, with videos and pictures from space. - http://clapway.com/2015/09/13/gopro-falls-to-earth-with-space-footage-101/

A lost GoPro attached to a weather balloon launched near the Grand Canyon in 2013 finally found its way back home and brought back videos and pictures from space.

GoPros are usually used to record wild stunts or adventurous group holidays. This time it’s different.

LOST GOPRO FOUND ITS WAY BACK HOME

Two years ago Bryan Chan and a few of his friends attached a 3D-printed chassis housing a GoPro, a Sony camcorder and a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to a weather balloon. They hoped to record some breathtaking footage but they never thought they would actually find photos of the Grand Canyon from the stratosphere.

Since the beginning, things didn’t go according to the plan. Chan and Co. expected for months a text from their AT&T phone with the location of the landed cameras. That message never came and they considered their devices lost forever.

“The coverage map we were relying on was not accurate,” wrote Chan in a Reddit post. “The phone never got [a] signal as it came back to Earth, and we never heard from it.”

TWIST OF FATE

But two years later the GoPro was found by a woman as she was hiking in the area. What’s even stranger is that the trekker works for AT&T.

“…in a twist of ironic fate, a woman who works at AT&T was on a hike one day and spotted our phone in the barren desert. She brings it to an AT&T store, and they identify my friend’s SIM card. We got the footage and data a few weeks later!,” Chan revealed.

Here’s the video of the GoPro trip to space. Enjoy.

(NOT SO) LOST GOPRO FOOTAGE FROM SPACE

From Neil Armstrong’s small step to Chris Hadfield’s David Bowie impression, videos have often transmitted what’s it like to be an astronaut is space, Wired reports.

Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, recently shared a video of a GoPro camera strapped to a metal fairing on a Falcon 9 rocket which captured incredible footage as that part of the rocket fell back to earth.

Perhaps not surprisingly, they chose Johann Strauss II’s “Blue Danube” from 2001: A Space Odyssey as the soundtrack.

Have you ever come across a lost GoPro space footage that you would like to share?

Why you should be excited about #GoPro #Hero4 Session - http://clapway.com/2015/07/06/gopros-ant-man-hero4-session-is-the-smallest-lightest-camera-223/

GoPro has today unwrapped its next generation Hero4 Session which is so small and light you’ll forget you are carrying it. The camera lives by the saying “less is more”.

GoPro’s Ant-Man

Tiny, yet powerful and waterproof by design, the GoPro Hero4 Session is easy to squeeze in with your extreme sports’ kit, given the smaller proportions.

According to the company, 50% smaller and 40% lighter than other HERO4 cameras, the new addition to the GoPro family is the most wearable and mountable camera ever. “With a sleek, versatile design, it’s at home anywhere—from the surf to the snow, to hanging with friends.”

“With Hero4 Session, we challenged ourselves to produce the smallest, lightest, most convenient GoPro possible,” said Nicholas Woodman, GoPro founder and CEO. “Hero4 Session combines the best of our engineering and user-experience know-how to deliver our most convenient life-capture solution, yet.” Woodman added.

This is the most compact action camera the company has come out with. GoPro Hero4 Session is equipped with a rugged outer casing, removing the need for and additional case to be used. It will be available to purchase from July 12th 2015.

New features of the GoPro Hero4

GoPro-Hero4-Session

According to the company, GoPro Hero4 Session comes with tailor-made designed mounts and accessories that work flawlessly with other GoPro gear. This will give customers “more mounting options than ever”.

GoPro Hero4 allows photographers to choose from a variety of photo modes, ranging from 8MP single photos, Time Lapse photos at set intervals from 0.5 to 60 seconds, and Burst photos at 10 frames per second.

In terms of controls, GoPro is making things easier for users. The LCD has shifted from the front to the top of the device, and there’s a single button to operate things.

To switch between the resolutions or modes users can rely on the GoPro app, which connects via the camera’s Bluetooth and WiFi connections. There’s also an optional remote control.

Other features include a new dual-microphone system, and a clearer underwater audio. There’s also a feature for versatile photo capture, but no 4K Ultra HD recording.

Hero4 Session is the smallest, lightest camera

If when it comes to versatile photo capture, the new GoPro Hero4 Session’s got you covered, due to its smaller size the action camera is not capable of recording 4K Ultra HD videos that can be shot with the company’s higher specification cameras.

The camera is not equipped with a touchscreen for on-camera control or review, either, which therefore requires an extra step. Battery life is a claimed two hours maximum.

Features of the GoPro Hero4 Session, however, include being waterproof to 10m and recording modes for either 1440p @ 30fps or 1080p @ 60fps. The GoPro Hero4 Session is priced at $399.99.
