Tony Hawk"s Pro Skater 5 on Xbox 360 and PS3 Still Far Behind Skate 3 - http://clapway.com/2015/12/15/tony-hawks-pro-skater-5-on-xbox-360-and-ps3-is-still-far-behind-skate-3-123

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 has just gotten a launch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in the US, but the game is still nothing compared to EA Games Skate 3. The game was supposed to release in the United States on November 13. It’s making its American debut almost a month later.

An American Release Doesn’t Make Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Series Any Better

The game hasn’t had a lot of positive reviews, at least in comparison to the previous four installments in the series. The game was laden with glitches and bugs. Activision was forced to do some troubleshooting to fix these issues, which were parodied by both fans and critics, who gave generally unfavorable reviews

Activision released an update just a week ago with hefty fixes and improved stability, but beyond that, there’s not much the developer can do. The reviews weren’t only negative in terms of the glitches, but also the gameplay. Landscapes saw a drastic change from the previous games.

The Game is Available Physically and Digitally for the US, Digitally Only for the UK

The game was initially released for PS4 and Xbox One on September 29, and previous generation console releases were delayed due to technical issues with the current gen consoles. This is perhaps why the roll out for PS3 and Xbox 360 was so quiet.

There was no official announcement from Activision. Instead, the game made its presence known through retailer listings, which pointed to a December 15 release. What’s more, earlier generation consoles will not have as much content as gamers on the PS4 and Xbox One. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will not feature online multiplayer for Xbox 360 or PS3, simply because these consoles do not have that functionality.

Activision Has Been Mum About the Game

Activision has made no comments in regards to future DLCs or any additional content for the game. The company hasn’t even said anything regarding the glitches that the first roll-out of the game had if they’ve been improved at all.

It’s likely that Activision isn’t expecting to draw a lot of profit from the game, given the fact that it’s become a bit of an online joke. Popular gamer websites are advising players to be cautious about buying the game, as they should be prepared to deal with the same bugs PS4 and Xbox One users experienced.

A Good Word for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5

Despite it all, the game gives gamers a new kind of combo-driven skateboarding in its gameplay, and it features the most advanced online multiplayer experience in any Tony Hawk game. The skatepark has also received much praise, as well as the character customizations. The positives just could not weigh out the negatives. The game had a laggy multiplayer, bad frame-rates and off-putting physics.

Will there Be Another Tony Hawk Pro Skater Game?

The game’s response puts the future of the series at peril. It’s likely that there will not be another Tony Hawk Pro Skater game out for quite some time. Either that or Activision will release another better version.

Whatever route the developer decides to make will likely get a reluctant response from the public. The average user score that was submitted by gamers to Metacritic was 1.5, which is abysmal. Considering how popular the game was in its previous installments, the team of developers and producers have some serious work to do to get the games’ popularity back.

Die Hard Skateboard Game Fans Should Grab Skate 3

Meanwhile, Skater 3 has taken the crown for skateboarding games, quickly becoming a crowd favorite. It was often compared to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 after release, and it became an obvious champion. Skater 3 is currently available for Xbox 360 and PS3.

New Call of Duty is More Twisted Than Halo 5 - http://clapway.com/2015/11/13/new-call-of-duty-is-more-twisted-than-halo-5/

The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is filled with body horror, to the surprise of only some. The game’s intention is to bring out the frailty of humanity into play, where you watch your own playable character get torn apart limb by limb by a killer robot. You’re eventually turned into a cyborg too ruthless to be considered human, but that precisely is Activision’s intention.

New Call Of Duty Proves Humans Aren’t Good Enough

We’ve been laden with ideas of supersoliders since the beginning of time, and there are certain characteristics that just cannot be beat by the frailty of the human heart and body. The game showcases these weaknesses as players witness waterboarding, beatings and arson all within the first level.

Activision’s point is to show that war can tear humans apart easily, and it takes up to make it so they won’t with the implementation of bionic limbs.

No One Is Playing the New Call of Duty for the Story

We believe that these games have never been played for the sake of story, and the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is no exception, but gamers can’t help but follow it, immerse themselves in it in order to play the game in the appropriate sequence. The fiction of Call of Duty takes the very concept of the military and blows it out to the largest proportions imaginable, taking violence and brutality to the biggest extent.

In the new Call of Duty especially, the very concept of the regular soldier is non-existent. It is cyborgs who fight the fights with a chance to win, it’s those with faster legs, harder fists and more stamina that can make it. After being implanted with bionic limbs, your playable character is even able to pair with any computer and becomes a killer with only a fraction of a heart. Though this upgrade isn’t new to the Call of Duty series or to any military fiction, it makes particular note of the feebleness of the human body to an unsettling degree.

This might come as a thrill to gamers. Though video games like this have been widely dismissed as being ‘too violent’ and being an ill representation of pop culture to young people, but the truth is that this fiction, despite being rather heartless, the new Call of Duty showcases the horrors of war and the technology that comes to fight it back.

The New Call of Duty Isn’t Entirely Fictitious

According to many researchers, the Western military R&D is actively looking into cybernetic limbs to upgrade the human body. History and fiction have both told us that when man and machine collide it is machine who usually wins. This is not due to mere force power either, but also due to the fact that machines, due to the advanced nature of programming technology, may be able to learn more, more exactly and efficiently.

If Western military is really looking to invest in bionic limbs, some may say they’ve read one too many Captain America comic books, or watched RoboCop one too many times, but as times progress, it may become a reality.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Beats Halo 5 - http://clapway.com/2015/11/11/call-of-duty-black-ops-3-beats-halo-5-in-sales-123/

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has generated $550 million in global revenue in just its first three days of release, making it Activision’s biggest entertainment launch of the year. This number is rounded up from the number of copies of the game that have been sold so far. Microsoft’s Halo 5 only generated $400 million after one week.

A Big Win for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Though Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 generated $500 million in sales in just one day, this record sets an all-time one for engagement per player. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are clocking the highest hours per player out of any game in the series. In fact, there were over 75 million hours logged between November 6 and 8, according to Activision.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Record Puts it Higher than Movies

Activision added that the game’s $550 million record puts it ahead of not only any other game launched this year, but also the highest of any game, film or entertainment launch of 2015. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 also broke records at PS4, making for the best-selling digital full game by units sold in its first day.

This makes Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 the most successful launch of the year, and the rest of the launches left in the year will have to take it up to these numbers to make new history.

Candy Crush Saga Could Ruin Activision - http://clapway.com/2015/11/03/candy-crush-saga-could-ruin-activision-123/

Activision is finally tackling a market that’s not well explored by the company: mobile games. The company, which brought the world the Guitar Hero and Call of Duty series, has purchased King, maker of App Store best-seller Candy Crush Saga. The purchase, as said by the company, is sure to bring Activision to new and promising territory, but the company’s inexperience with apps could hurt Candy Crush Saga, or vice versa.

The game is already plagued with bugs and complaints, where accidental purchases are made with the unconfirmed click of a button and draining user’s wallets, and this new development could cause many more bugs. It is no secret that this acquisition will come with an experimentation period, and Candy Crush Saga may see a new low as the purchase is finalized. It could bring Activision stocks down as opposed to the hopeful up in the mobile gaming industry.

Candy Crush Saga currently ranks fourth best selling app of all time, with it’s sequel Candy Crush Soda falling sixth, but its latest updates are already bringing in sub-par reviews. It’s still to be seen what Activision will bring to the table once the acquisition is finalized next spring.

Activision is known for games that have brought addiction to gamers, and hopefully it can bring some of that to King’s upcoming games. Guitar Hero and Call of Duty are particularly designed in a way that draws attention quickly and holds it, so hopefully it can do the same for Kings’ already addictive games.
