343 Industries are releasing a bunch of amazing goodies as part of the release of Infinity’s Armoury on Halo 5: Guardians. The new gear includes pizza skins and new assassinations.

REQs Worthy of the UNSC Infinity

The Halo 2 Battle Rifle makes a fantastic comeback as a Mythic loadout weapon REQ to use in Warzone. It can also be used in Forge Mode on the Halo 2 maps. There are many more goodies connected to the UNSC Infinity, the most powerful vessel designed by the United Nations Space Command.

The announcement also shares that there will be new areas for Arena and Warzone Assault. Gamers will reencounter familiar weapons and become introduced to new ones. Spartans have access to new armor sets and skins for weapons, including a cheesy pepperoni pizza one.

New Weapons and Arenas Coming to Halo 5: Guardians

One of the most anticipated weapons is the BR55 Battle Rifle, which fires 9.5mm rounds from a 36 round mag. It also has a 2x optical scope and fires in threes automatically. There’s also a new Rain of Oblivion Uncommon, an upgraded Carbine that can go fully automatic with a bigger mag.

The update also includes the Blood of Suban Rare, an advanced Carbine that fires Needler shards. If you get a few shards on one target, it’ll cause a ‘supercombine’ explosion.

New Armour Sets, Assassinations, A New Map and Pizza

Halo 5: Guardians Infinity’s Armoury also comes with the Achilles Armour Set. It can be unlocked when gamers’ Spartan Company gets to Level 3 in a Kill Commendations. Among the assassinations, the update includes the ‘Wind Up’ and the ‘Stop Stabbing Yourself’ assassinations. A new map will be coming sometime this month called Riptide.

The update came alongside a kickass video that shows the gameplay live. It features a pizza skin, rainbow skin and awesome throwbacks of the game’s best weapons at their best. The official statement tells the story of how the Created have quickly spread their influence across different worlds. They’ve gotten their hands on Forerunner machinery and UNSC information systems. Because of this, they’ve made some equipment and engines into their own designs.

Halo 5 has hit the world with a tremendous amount of hype and anticipation, and now Microsoft has revealed more content coming next month. This new content will join Halo 5’s Forge Mode, which was announced weeks ago that it will also launch in December. 343 Industries, the brains behind Halo 5, has also commented on releasing various free updates in the coming months as well.

WHAT WILL BE ADDED WITH THIS DLC?

This new DLC was teased in Halo 5’s latest live stream by Microsoft. The video teased that there will be new weapons, new weapon skins, new armor, and possibly a Forge map set in space. Many people believe that one of the weapons looked like the M41 Rocket Launcher and that players will also get the Mark IV helmet. The weapon skins in the video released were black and gold variations of various weapons. This should just be the start of what could be loads of DLC coming to Halo 5. With how critically acclaimed the Halo series has been, it should be no surprise to continue to see more and more content. Halo 5 already received its first major update when Microsoft released what is known as the Battle of Shadow and Light. This update added the Big Team Battle Mode, dozens of new Req packs, and four brand new maps.

As mentioned earlier, more content should continue to be given to Halo 5. For now, Halo fans have this new DLC and the reported Forge Mode to look forward to next month. This should be enough to satisfy fans for the time being, but people will always be greedy for more. The good news for those greedy people is 343 Industries has stated more content will be on its way, but they have not officially announced anything more than this December DLC. Halo 5 has already received favorable reviews across the web and DLC will always help on improving a game. The fact that this DLC has also been confirmed to be free is icing on the cake. December should be an awesome month for Halo fans as they have major additions arriving to Halo 5 and there is certainly no better time to be a fan.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has generated $550 million in global revenue in just its first three days of release, making it Activision’s biggest entertainment launch of the year. This number is rounded up from the number of copies of the game that have been sold so far. Microsoft’s Halo 5 only generated $400 million after one week.

A Big Win for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Though Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 generated $500 million in sales in just one day, this record sets an all-time one for engagement per player. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are clocking the highest hours per player out of any game in the series. In fact, there were over 75 million hours logged between November 6 and 8, according to Activision.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Record Puts it Higher than Movies

Activision added that the game’s $550 million record puts it ahead of not only any other game launched this year, but also the highest of any game, film or entertainment launch of 2015. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 also broke records at PS4, making for the best-selling digital full game by units sold in its first day.

This makes Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 the most successful launch of the year, and the rest of the launches left in the year will have to take it up to these numbers to make new history.

The debate is over, Halo 5: Guardians is definitely a better game than Destiny. One week after launch, the game became the fastest-selling Xbox One exclusive one to date, and earned over $400 million in global sales. This puts the Halo franchise at having earned over $5 billion since it began.

What’s more, last wee’s Halo 5: Live earned the franchise a Guinness World Record for most watched video game launch broadcast, with over 330,000 game streams on the night of the event. Other content from the event garnered a total of 5.5 million views throughout the week, and resulted in a steep increase in digital sales for Halo 5. It became the best selling digital game in history in the Xbox Store for its opening week. So, really, which is the better game? At least according to hype and sales, Halo 5 definitely takes Destiny‘s cake.

This just goes to show the innovation that comes from the Halo series and the efforts to bring the best possible game to fans. Xbox and 343 Industries have definitely made it so that Halo 5 not only takes full advantage of the Xbox, but that brings out what the fans love the most about the franchises’ stories, characters and gameplay.

The game is sure to beat out Destiny even as the holidays set in, where Halo 5: Guardians is expected to break through a few more records.
