#EmpireStrikesBack game out for Playstation -- featuring #DarthVader bundles! - http://clapway.com/2015/08/17/the-empire-strikes-back-on-playstation-darth-vader-gets-his-own-console-352/

Step aside, Rebel Alliance: the Empire has taken over PlayStation, and Darth Vader is getting his own console and controller in November of this year. In an announcement made at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California this past weekend, Sony revealed that the special limited edition Darth Vader PlayStation 4 console would be available on November 17th of this year as part of two Star Wars bundles.

The Dark Side of the Force Comes to PlayStation

The specially themed PS4 console features a profile image of Darth Vader, accompanied by the Star Wars logo repeatedly etched across the top. The system comes with a Darth Vader themed DualShock 4 controller as well, which is inspired by the Sith Lord’s iconic chest panel. The controller’s body is black, and the directional pad and a few other buttons are red, while other buttons and the dual analog sticks are gray. The Star Wars logo is also repeated across the controller’s touchpad.

Two Darth Vader Bundles to Choose From

The limited edition PS4 console comes with much more than just a similarly themed controller. Along with the console and DualShock 4 controller, Sony has announced that the bundle will include a hard copy of the game Star Wars Battlefront, the well-known multiplayer shooter game. It will also include digital vouchers to give users the ability to download four classic Star Wars games: Super Star Wars, Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, and Star Wars: Racer Revenge. This marks the first time that these titles will be playable on the PlayStation 4, and Sony has stated that these games will feature “enhanced graphics and trophy support” on the console.

Also being released on November 17th is the Limited Edition Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars Bundle, which also features the Darth Vader PS4 and DualShock 4 controller. This bundle coincides with Disney Infinity 3.0’s official launch, and includes a hard copy of Disney Infinity 3.0, the Rise Against the Empire Play Set Pack, the Disney Infinity Base, and the Boba Fett figure, which is exclusive to PlayStation. This bundle will also include digital vouchers for the four classic Star Wars games mentioned above. Watch the video announcement here.

Building Up Excitement for The Force Awakens

The announcement of this Darth Vader themed PS4 console and controller comes at a time when fans across the galaxy have been eagerly anticipating the release of the newest Star Wars film, Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The film is set to be released in theaters across the nation a month after the Darth Vader PS4 bundles are released, so fans have some time to get reacquainted with the dark side of the Force before making the grand return to the Star Wars universe at large.

#Disney gives #StarWars fans a reason to be ecstatic with this upcoming theme park! - http://clapway.com/2015/08/16/disney-teases-two-new-star-wars-theme-parks-at-the-d23-expo-223/

When Disney originally acquired Star Wars many fans believed that their beloved franchise was going to be driven into the ground. But to the surprise of many, the opposite has been happening. They’ve launched two successful (and good) animated series, Episode VII appears to be everything fans have dreamed of, and now, it looks like fans will finally get to pilot the Millennium Falcon.

Star Wars Land

This announcement comes from Disney Chairman Bob Iger. At Disney D23 Expo 2015 Iger stood in front of 8,000 fans and announced that Disney would be adding on two Star Wars theme parks to its existing Disney parks: one in Orlando, Fla., and another in Anaheim, Calif.

Each park will span more 14 acres each, which makes them the largest single-themed parks that Disney has ever constructed. The idea is to give fans a taste of what it would be like to really live inside the Star Wars universe. Each park will take fans to never-before-seen locations and will be filled with characters from Star Wars.

“We are creating a jaw-dropping new world. We’re bringing Star Wars to life in a big way. … These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet,” said Iger.

The Attractions

As of right now, Iger has only detailed two major attractions for the Star Wars theme park. The first will allow fans to pilot the Millennium Falcon while it’s undertaking a secret mission. During the mission fans will engage in a “cinematic battle.” The other attraction will put fans right in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Outside of the attractions, the entire park will be ran by “locals.” These will include humanoids, aliens, and robots who all run and operate cantinas and other shops around the park.

So When is it Happening?

These two Star Wars Land theme parks aren’t the first Star Wars attractions to hit Disney’s parks. Back in 1987 there was an attraction called Star Tours that has since been redesigned and re-branded as Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.

Unfortunately, fans will have a decent wait before the parks are open. The only thing teased, aside from details, were some artist concept renderings of the parks. In other words, planning and development are still underway, so it’ll be some time before construction of the parks are underway. Iger made no comment on what kind of time frame Star Wars fans will be looking at until the parks are completed.
