Motorola On Verizon, AT&T Still Sucks, Stick to T-Mobile and Sprint - http://clapway.com/2016/01/14/motorola-on-verizon-and-att-still-sucks-stick-to-t-mobile-and-sprint-123/

Motorola announced that Android 6 Marshmallow will not be on Verizon or AT&T versions of the Moto X. Maybe it’s why T-Mobile and Sprint don’t sell it. Verizon, at least, is handing out codes that can unlock the phone to install custom ROMs, but other carriers are still on the same boat.

Moto X Clapway

Why Does Motorola Not Have Android OS on Moto X?

Only owners of the ‘Pure Edition’ upgraded Moto X get access to newer OS support. Many people are suspecting that there is a problem among the carriers, but AT&T, Verizon of Motorola haven’t made any statements. If people really want the latest Android OS, you can unlock the phone. However, doing so will void the phone’s warranty and wipe it clean. The company is nevertheless giving users a guide to how to bootload their phones. T-Mobile and Sprint currently don’t carry these phones, but you’re better off with them than with an out of date OS.

Meanwhile, The Moto G and Moto E Are Still Alive!

A representative has declared that though Motorola is rebranding itself, it will not give up on the G and E phones. In addition, representatives announced that every handset released in 2016 will have a screen size minimum of 5″, which confused many, but these two specific series will remain on the market.

New phones will be dubbed as ‘Moto by Lenovo‘, and along with the Vibe series, will completely change the brand. The OEM wants to make things simpler, more elegant and more functional while still remaining fresh. There’s buzz saying that future Motorola phones are going to play with the big boys, featuring even fingerprint sensors, which is only featured by Samsung and the iPhone. Motorola also announced a new user interface that will be revealed in 2016.

What Does this Mean for Apple and Samsung?

Motorola makes parts for most electronics in the mainstream. If they’re serious about re-entering the market, Apple and Samsung can be prepared for a lot of fun competition. It’s been a while since Motorola was buzzing around in the media, and it’s safe to say it’s about time they made a comeback. Though Motorola has not confirmed any rumors, we can expect a great year in electronics thanks to them.

New Turris Omnia Router Can Beat T-Mobile and Google OnHub - http://clapway.com/2016/01/12/new-turris-omnia-router-can-beat-t-mobile-and-google-onhub-123/

A new project out of the Czech Republic transforms your home router. The Turris Omnia will bring serious competition to T-Mobile and Google’s OnHub.

CZ.NIC Brings In the Turris Omnia Router

CZ.NIC, based in Prague, was founded in 1998 as a Czech Internet services provider. They operate the domain name registry for the .cz domain and the CZ top-level domain. They also develop software like BIRD and Knot DNS. The company designed the Turris series of routers as part of a non-profit research project.

Home routers are a necessity, like any other utility. The new Turris Omnia has the ability to handle gigabit traffic and without a problem. It can be used as a home server, NAS, a print server and even has a virtual server within the hardware.

A Smart Router for a Smart Home

The Turris Omnia has an SIM card slot, RTC battery backup. It also supports crypto chips for safe random number generation. For extra fun, the router has dimmable RBG LEDs, pin headers with GPI, I2C, SPI and more. The router only consumes 5 to 6 watts of power, and the board with Wi-Fi card operates 8 watts and below.

This router costs roughly the same as other mainstream routers, but it offers users a sophisticated system that is also open source. It encourages learning about open source products and makes your connectivity transparent, but also fully capable of protecting you

Are T-Mobile and Google’s OnHub in Danger?

The campaign brings in a new way to protect your home connection, but it faces heavy competition. The Google OnHub has gotten great hype, although it’s a little pricey for its limited abilities. T-Mobile’s CellSpot router has also gotten great reviews for being both great at Wi-Fi calling and as a whole-home router. Both routers are the product of a partnership with Asus.

Where does this small router fit in? This router is specially designed for people who want to tailor their security and want to be aware of all the activity going on in their home servers. The target audience for this product are people who are really interested in the innards of Internet of Things hardware.

AT&T Fights Back Against T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint With Unlimited Data Plan - http://clapway.com/2016/01/11/att-fights-back-against-t-mobile-verizoin-and-sprint-123/

After years in hiding, AT&T’s Unlimited Data Plan is making a comeback. The carrier, number two in the country, is taking a stab at AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. This comes after Sprint announced the extension of their half-off offer.

T-Mobil Clapway

AT&T Joins Hands with DirecTV and U-verse For New Unlimited Data Plan Offer

As part of the partnership with these two services, the offer gives users unlimited data for $100 per month for one smartphone. If users decide to bring in four smartphones on one plan, they get a credit that makes that fourth line free. That makes for $180 per month for unlimited data, talk, and text on four lines. There are a few catches, though. For starters, users still have to pay a full $220 for the first two months for the credit to come in.

The Unlimited Data Plan Isn’t Perfect

This offer is only applicable to DirecTV and U-verse subscribers that have AT&T plans. Otherwise, the best option would be the Mobile Share Plan. If users get DirecTV and U-verse after setting up aj AT&T plan, they can get an extra $10 off their bills.

The point is to promote AT&T’s acquisition of DirecTV. Streaming on the go is the latest trend, hence the partnership with U-verse. Since video streaming also eats up a lot of data, AT&T is encouraging the use of U-verse for people who stream video outside of their home or office.

Unlike Verizon and Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T Offer Unlimited Plans

AT&T’s previous unlimited data plan capped at 5GB, and the new one allows access to 22GB to be shared between up to four lines. Connectivity might get slower if there’s heavy network congestion. Not Verizon nor Sprint offer any kind of unlimited plan. The only other carrier that offers a similar plan is T-Mobile, though at $95 for one smartphone. There’s also the BingeOn option, but it doesn’t support certain video streams for free data.

AT&T has big plans for 2016, apparently. The carrier declared that this Unlimited Data Plan offer is only ‘the first of many integrated video and mobility offers’ they have planned for the year. Naturally, the company is looking to keep their #2 as close as possible.

Sprint Declares War Against T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon - http://clapway.com/2016/01/09/sprint-declares-war-against-t-mobile-att-and-verizon-123/

Sprint is extending the half-off rate plan offer to anyone wanting to switch out of T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T. This is hopeful news after T-Mobile took its spot as 3rd most popular carrier.

T-Mobile is Destroying Its Competition

Sprint has a lot of catching up to do. T-Mobile added 1 million or more subscribers to their services even in the slower months of 2015. It’s subscriber count increased by 2.06 million from October through December. Although final quarter results aren’t out yet, T-Mobile likely excelled.

In fact, earnings on T-Mobile’s fourth quarter included 917,000 phone customers with higher credit standards. This means they got more customers that paid for service as opposed to getting a pre-paid plan. This kind of customer is highly valuable. They are often give companies the highest and safest revenue. T-Mobile subscribers grew by 8.3 million in 2015 in total, which means it has 63.28 million in total. That’s 23,000 new customers per day.

Verizon and AT&T have equally overwhelming numbers, but they have been getting these kinds of figures for years now. The fact that Sprint got kicked out of their spot is what is bringing on this competition.

Sprint’s Half-Off Offer Extended to February 11

Probably in an attempt at catching up, Sprint announced the extension of their half-off rate plan offer. The offer is now ending on February 11. Black Friday treated them awfully well, giving the carrier a record in most sales in a single day. They hope to improve performance even further. Sprint has even been getting more positive responses to their wireless network. Sprint may not have the crown yet, but it has the tools to get there.

Can This Carrier Catch Up to AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile?

Sprint didn’t release any subscriber totals on the fourth quarter, but details on customer count and financial statistics will be coming in the next few weeks. Although gains are coming primarily from AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, analysts expect good results from Sprint. The company sported a great 58.58 million subscribers by the end of September.

The truth is, they are not doing terribly. The company is facing many losses, and it is struggling to keep up. Analysts still have faith in the company, and they will surely step their game up to get back what T-Mobile has taken from them.

Google Project Fi Will Replace T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T - http://clapway.com/2015/12/16/google-project-fi-will-replace-t-mobile-verizon-and-att/

Google Project Fi, which is the company’s affordable wireless service, is coming to tablets powered by AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. On December 15, Google released a blog post that announced that all users need to get Project Fi on their tablets is an SIM card.

2. Google Project Fi AT&T T-Mobile

Google Project Fi Can Now Connect to Nexus 7 or Even the iPad Air 2

Project Fi works by using a combination of T-Mobile and Sprint’s cellular network as well as other local Wi-Fi networks. The fact that they now support tablets indicates that Google is looking to seriously infiltrate the wireless industry. Not only that but all Google Project Fi services are 100% free.

Google is even supporting Apple devices, which is a seriously gutsy move. Google Project Fi is a much cheaper alternative to pretty much any other network provider. Companies like AT&T and Verizon usually even charge an extra fee for connecting a tablet to any plan, so this is a huge advantage to people who want to stay connected while away from Wi-Fi hubs.

Google Project Fi Wants to Connect as Many Devices As Possible, Even if it Means Competing Against Verizon and AT&T

Project Fi subscribers won’t pay an extra cent to add tablets to their plans. Phones and tablets with the service will be able to connect to T-Mobile network when they’re out of range for any other network. Tablets won’t be able to access the voice network for obvious reasons, but this gives customers from any carrier the chance to get network connectivity at nearly no additional cost.

All users have to do is get a data-only SIM, and put it into their device. From then on, they can connect to Google Project Fi and go forth. Customers will pay $10 per gigabyte of data used every month after that. Other telecommunication companies charge $10 to add tablets to a plan, so this is a really great deal.

Sprint AT&T Metro PCS

Project Fi Will Roll Out to Five Tablets At First

According to the blog post, the service will start out on the Nexus 7, Nexus 9, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. This means that Google is going to be indirectly battling two of its greatest rivals: Samsung and Apple. Having connectivity to the Nexus is an obvious move, but heading for Apple and Samsung territory will certainly turn a few heads.

Google’s Project Has A Lot of Room to Grow

Naturally, the service isn’t perfect. Tablets connected to Project Fi can’t use their devices as mobile hotspots. The SIM cards that will be used with these devices can only be used by Project Fi subscribers. Subscription costs $20 per month and includes voice and text services. A data-only SIM will allow for up to 9 devices to connect to a single service.

Will Project Fi Replace Telecommunication Companies as We Know Them?

Google is attacking the wireless industry mercilessly. Project Loon is going to the most unconnected countries in the world and Project Ara bringing around the most versatile smartphone ever made. Project Fi is the next logical step in connecting the world in a more affordable and more efficient way.

2. Google Project ARA

Project Ara and Project Fi Can Be Expected to Collaborate

It’s likely that if and when Google Ara smartphone hits the market that it will be the first to feature Project Fi network connectivity. It’s not certain how much the technology may develop by then. Google may choose to end the partnership with Sprint and T-Mobile to form a network of its own, maybe even with the help of Project Loon.

2. Google Project ARA

The key to the equation is that Google isn’t outwardly looking to replace any telecommunication companies. They’re looking to collaborate until they can stand their own ground, in which case they only hope for friendly competition. At least, that’s what their press suggests.

Verizon vs T-Mobile vs AT&T – Sponsored Data And Individual Plans - http://clapway.com/2015/12/11/verizon-vs-t-mobile-vs-att-sponsored-data-individual-plans/

The decision to decide what phone provider you want to have can be a difficult one. T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T are undoubtedly three of the most popular providers in the world. The cost of the provider is going to be the biggest factor. Plus, Verizon is pondering the idea of sponsored data which would add to their service. Let’s take a look at how these companies handle sponsored data and their individual plans.

Verizon vs T-Mobile vs AT&T – Sponsored Data And Individual Plans

BEFORE WE BEGIN, LET’S EXPLAIN SPONSERED DATA

For anyone who does not know, sponsored data allows users to be able to access certain apps and services without losing data. Basically, the provider will “sponsor” the data for their users so they do not have to pay for it. This makes life more convenient for users given that they can access these services without losing data.

Verizon vs T-Mobile vs AT&T – Sponsored Data And Individual Plans

VERIZON: SPONSERED DATA AND INDIVIDUAL PLANS

As of right now, Verizon executive vice president, Marni Walded, stated that they could begin to set up sponsorship’s for some of their data. That is all that is known now, but he did say that their customers could expect this to be seen in the first half of 2016. As far as their individual plans go, they list their prices on their website. This is also just the cost for the data size itself. According to Verizon’s website, 1GB per month of data is $30, 3GB per month is $45, 6GB per month is $60, 12GB per month is $80, and 18GB per month is $100.

4. Individual Plans 4

T-MOBILE: SPONSERED DATA AND INDIVIDUAL PLANS

T-Mobile has very cool and well received, by the FCC, sponsored data. According to T-Mobile, they do not data charge on music or video streaming services. This would include services such as Spotify and Netflix. FCC’s Tom Wheeler mentions how this is a tremendous aspect that they provide. He stated how he thought it was highly innovative and competitive. T-Mobile’s individual plans are a little different than Verizon’s. According to T-Mobile’s website, 2 GB per month of data is $50, 6 GB per month is $65, 10 GB per month is $80, and unlimited GB per month is $95 a month.

AT&T: SPONSERED DATA AND INDIVIDUAL PLANS

Over a year ago, AT&T announced that they had a solution to sponsored data. The company stated that they would offer companies a way to pre-pay for the data that their customers use. The mobile chief, Ralph de la Vega, recently announced that this is still in production. AT&T offers a little more variety of data size than the other two companies. According to AT&T’s website, 2 GB per month of data is $30, 5 GB per month is $50, 15 GB per month is $100, 20 GB per month is $140, 25GB per month is $175, and 30 GB per month is $225.

HOW AT&T, VERIZON, AND T-MOBILE COMPARE

As can be seen, all of these phone providers do offer different data plans. It really depends on how much data you plan to use to which one you prefer. If you are one who uses a lot of data, then T-Mobile’s unlimited data per month plan would be perfect for you. However, if you are one who rarely uses data, then AT&T’s 2 GB per month plan of only $30 would be the way to go. Again, that is just the price of the data itself. Also, T-Mobile offers data free video-streaming and music. However, Verizon and AT&T sound like they are going to be adding some sponsored data.

THE OVERALL VERDICT ON T-MOBILE, VERIZON, AND AT&T

The overall verdict I would say for these three phone companies is that they are all good. Any way you go should be beneficial for you. The one big factor to keep in mind is if you want unlimited data, because if you do then get a plan by T-Mobile.

T-Mobile Music Freedom and Binge On Get An Upgrade - http://clapway.com/2015/12/10/t-mobile-music-freedom-and-binge-on-get-upgraded/

T-Mobile has released another statement regarding their UnCarrier campaign, and this time it revolves around an extension to T-Mobile Music Freedom and Binge On. The telecommunication company’s drive towards a free and open Internet is widening its reach.

T-Mobile Music Freedom

Music Freedom Teams Up

The free music streaming service is looking to include Pandora, Rhapsody, Spotify and Apple Music to stream music, as well as BandCamp, Mad Genius Radio and Songza. Music Freedom covers more than 95% of all music streamed by T-Mobile customers. More than 196 million songs are being streamed every day at no data costs to customers.

Binge On Also Gets A Do-Up

UnCarrier’s other top service, Binge On, is getting more support from Netflix, HBO, Hulu and Sling TV. There are a total of 24 more services available to any customers. Mobile video makes up for most of people’s data, and it has grown by 145% since 2013. Analysts are expecting these numbers to grow by 400%, especially thanks to video content from YouTube, Vine, Snapchat and Instagram. T-Mobile is making the experience as convenient as possible.

Does T-Mobile really mean to make the internet free and open to everyone? Unlike other carriers, the company is focused on combining as many things as possible and bring them to their customers. This could be a marketing ploy, and intentions might be a little blurry, but T-Mobile is thinking ahead.

Will Other Companies Join T-Mobile?

If T-Mobile is willing to sacrifice so many expenses, they may just become the most widespread mobile network used in the US. Will other carriers do the same? It’s possible that other companies don’t have the ability to sacrifice as much data costs as T-Mobile is, but it would bring a different face to telecommunications.

The UnCarrier campaign is nowhere near over. We should continue to expect great perks to come from the company, and we will continue to see the other major US carriers to try and measure up.

T-Mobile Is Trying Hard To Destroy AT&T - http://clapway.com/2015/12/08/t-mobile-trying-hard-destroy-att/

Don’t worry AT&T it is not personal for T-Mobile, it is just business. It seems that this holiday season T-Mobile is trying to steal all of AT&T’s customers. Albeit a little aggressive, it is a great business strategy for them. Let’s take a look at how they are planning on converting all of AT&T’s customers.

T-MOBILE STEALING AT&T CUSTOMERS

T-Mobile has announced some amazing deals for all AT&T customers. The first big one is a 128 GB iPhone 6s, for only $649.99, for them. To put this in perspective, the 16 GB version of the same phone is the same price. This is over 100 GB more of internal storage for the same price. It does not end there though as they will also be getting 50 percent off all accessories over $70. They said that the limit will be $125, but 50 percent off is a huge chunk of money. If there was ever a time for AT&T users to officially switch to T-Mobile, it would be now!

3. AT&T T-Mobil

T-MOBILE RUINING AT&T

All of these recent sales for AT&T users is coming off of T-Mobile already having much more postpaid money from subscribers. Before this, they had five times the amount of postpaid subscribers last year. There should be no doubt that this number will continue to grow. It seems as if T-Mobile is set to make it their goal to officially end them. This would certainly get rid of another obstacle for them and make it so they could officially stop caring about them.

TIME WILL TELL IF T-MOBILE BURIES AT&T

This will end up being a very interesting revelation. All of these promotions should allow T-Mobile to steal some AT&T customers, but how many can they? Will they steal enough to completely annihilate and finish AT&T? Only time will end up answering these questions, but as of right now it would appear that they are set to convert a lot of AT&T users.

Sprint Will Pay Your Bills Until 2018 - http://clapway.com/2015/11/19/sprint-will-pay-your-bills-until-2018123/

Sprint is hoping to haul in as many AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile customers by offering to cut clients’ current bills in half and let them keep their current phones. In order to qualify, all customers have to do is transfer at least one active line, and even pay a discounted rate if they’re looking for more data.

This Sprint Promotion Will Last Through 2018

Sprint is hoping to recover from their merge with Nextel, which made them the weakest of the four major telecommunication companies in the United States. T-Mobile has gained favorable rates since introducing the Simple Choice plan and their Un-Carrier campaign, and it looks like this is Sprint’s time to catch up.

This new promotion was announced via a press release. Customers will have four weeks to decide if they enjoy the switch, and if they don’t they’re free to return the device for full credit, no questions asked.

New Sprint Customers Can Even Pick Up A Tablet on the Way!

New Sprint customers will be able to pick up an Alcatel OneTouch PIXI 7 tablet as they switch, though this offer has a limited supply. All of these promotions are likely a step to get Sprint back in the game again, and with these attractive offers, it is likely that they will achieve it.

T-Mobile Extends Music Freedom with Binge On - http://clapway.com/2015/11/11/t-mobile-extends-music-freedom-with-binge-on123/

After extending the mobile data limit for all Simple Choice Amped Plans, T-Mobile revealed Binge On, a makeshift sequel to Music Freedom. For the price of exactly no dollars, Simple Choice Amped customers will be able to watch video at 480p or higher from 24 streaming services without it having any effect on their speed data plans.

T-Music Music Freedom was initially released as a music streaming service that allows for, redundantly, music freedom. This was possibly to compete with Apple Music. Now, T-Mobile has decided to add an extension, and it gives customers unlimited access to Netflix, HBO Go, DirecTV and Go90 absolutely free of cost. Even customers paying for extra data will get access to Binge On in the coming weeks.

T-Mobil - Clapway

T-Mobile Service

Like with Music Freedom, clients will be able to suggest new services to join the roster of customer benefits. The service will also support Hulu and ESPN, and though there’s been no word of Youtube Red, it’s not too clear if companies will start to jump on this bandwagon to get in on the fun. Companies like Vudu have joined in part, allowing customers one free movie rental every month, and T-Mobile executives have whispered about discounted subscription to Sling as well.

Binge On, like T-Mobil Music Freedom, is Still Kind of Sketchy

T-Mobile CEO John Legere assures customers that the new service will not see net neutrality issues, as was the case with Music Freedom, but it does have very vague implications as to how the company will handle the data that all of these services will consume. It’s yet to be seen when or how the company will clear this up.

Thanks to some clever #hackers, #Tmobile is banning users from having #unlimiteddata. - http://clapway.com/2015/09/01/t-mobile-data-thiefs123/

Nothing in this world is limitless–not even T-Mobile’s unlimited data plan. On Monday T-Mobile CEO John Legere went on Twitter and announced that the company would be banning 1/100 percent of its users that Legere believes is abusing their unlimited data plans.

THE ABUSERS OF UNLIMITED DATA

Legere said this ban would only affect an extremely small number of T-Mobile subscribers, and that the abuse was mostly coming from users who were taking advantage of the company’s tethering feature. Tethering is a feature that let’s people use their phones like hotspots: emitting data out to other wireless devices like a tablet or a laptop. This let’s the abusers essentially have a “free” home network so they don’t need to pay for additional internet packages through an internet service provider (ISP).

READ MORE NEWS FROM T-MOBILE HERE!

“They are ‘hacking’ the system to swipe high speed tethered data,” wrote Legere in a recent blog post on the subject. “These aren’t naive amateurs; they are clever hackers who are willfully stealing for their own selfish gain.”

HOW THEY’RE PULLING IT OFF

Now, to be upfront, T-Mobile gives users a monthly allowance of data that can be tethered. That’s usually around five gigabytes of data, which is plenty for most people. You can get a lot accomplished on a laptop over the course of a month and never even come near that amount of data… at least, not until you start streaming media content.

These “hackers” are using the tethering feature to use up to two terabytes in some cases, which is well over the allotted amount. Typically, once a user reaches their limit then T-Mobile will throttle their data, which means their download and upload speeds will see a pretty noticeable decrease. In order to circumvent this, the “hackers” are using apps that allow them to hide their usage from T-Mobile, so the company never actually sees how much data is being used by the user.

WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS

T-Mobile is currently the last of the major carriers that offers an unlimited data plan, and abuse like this is exactly why the other carriers have jumped ship. AT&T discontinued their unlimited plans in 2010, and Verizon did too around the same time. One key difference between AT&T’s unlimited data plan and T-Mobile’s is data throttling. On T-Mobile, regardless of how much data you use, they have a plan that will never throttle a user’s data on their smartphone, but AT&T’s would have a soft cap.

Fortunately, T-Mobile isn’t planning to pull the plug on unlimited as of right now. Legere said T-Mobile would contact the “hackers” in an attempt to find a solution.

Verizon Kills off Contracts and Subsidies - http://clapway.com/2015/08/08/verizon-kills-off-contracts-and-subsidies-101/

Verizon has announced that it will officially be the second carrier to stop wrangling their customers into two-year contracts every time they purchase a new phone. Verizon subscribers will be able to choose from a new selection of cheaper plans (sans the subsidy fee), but that means customers will have to purchase the phone outright — by either paying for it in-full or through monthly payment installations.

Verizon Kills Subsidies

T-Mobile was the first wireless carrier in the US to cut ties with subsidizing phones for its customers, but in doing so they set forth a ripple effect that has convinced the other carriers to follow suit.

For customers, this means that they’ll now have to purchase phones outright, which incentivizes manufacturers to offer phones at more competitive prices and, hopefully, entices them to put smartphones on sale more often.

According to Verizon, the subsidy fee they charged in a two-year contract was about $19 a month. Multiplying that number by the number of months in two years means customers were paying around $456 a year. An iPhone 6 is currently $649 through Verizon, so if you tack on the $200 a user would typically pay for a subsidized iPhone 6 then it’s easy to see that users won’t really pay any more or less without a contract. Suddenly that subsidy doesn’t really seem like much of a subsidy.

Verizon to Offer a New Range of Plans

Starting on August 13, Verizon is also going to be offering a new set of plans that range from four main options: small, medium, large, and extra large. Verizon will be eliminating the subsidy fee, which will discount voice, text, and data plans by about $20 a month. The amount will depend based on each plan, however.

The different “sizes” refer to the amount of data each plan offers. A small plan only offers 1GB of data, while an extra large plan offers up to 12GB. Here is a quick price breakdown for single lines:

Small – $30/month 1GB of data

Medium – $45/month 3GB of data

Large – $60/month 6GB of data

Extra Large – $80/month 12GB of data

Grandfathering is Alive and Well

Current customers who don’t want to switch plans will still be able to keep the same plans they have now. Verizon mentioned that there would be some restrictions that may apply (perhaps with regard to the few still holding onto their unlimited data plans), but Verizon didn’t give any precise details about what the stipulations might be.

T-Mobile Customers Can Use Phones in Canada and Mexico at No Charge - http://clapway.com/2015/07/10/t-mobile-customers-can-use-phones-in-canada-and-mexico-at-no-charge654/

One of T-Mobile’s latest moves was to add more services to its customers without adding any other charges to customer bills. The mobile carrier will now include texting, calling, and 4G LTE data to and from Mexico and Canada for all customers who have Simple Choice calling plans with the carrier.

SIMPLE CHOICE PLANS WITH T-MOBILE NOW COVERS NORTH AMERICA

This news was all released in a July 9 announcement by T-Mobile. The “no extra charge” initiative for no roaming charges is called “Mobile without Borders” and will begin on July 15th for all T-Mobile customers. The plan covers both sending and receiving calls or texts between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico on T-Mobile phones.

All T-Mobile Simple Choice plan members, regardless if they have a prepaid or billed account, will automatically receive the new calling features at no extra charge as a part of their calling plans. Current Simple Choice customers can join online, in store, or by phone. Business customers can add coverage and calling across North America to their Simple Choice plans at no extra cost for the first 10 lines and only $1 a month for each line beyond that.

IN 2014, THERE WERE OVER $10 BILLION IN GLOBAL ROAMING CHARGES

This is great for customers who frequently make and receive calls and texts from Canada and Mexico, especially when they are traveling between the three countries. Around 55 percent of all international travel and 35 percent of international calls from the United States involved Canada and Mexico. This led to nearly $10 billion in global roaming charges at over 90 percent higher rates for mobile carriers in 2014.

T-MOBILE ACTS 4 MONTHS AFTER AT&T BOUGHT NEXTEL MEXICO

This latest T-Mobile announcement arrives shortly after AT&T, one of T-Mobile’s competitors, announced that it was acquiring the assets of Nextel Mexico for over $1 billion. The AT&T and Nextel Mexico deal was described by AT&T as a step towards the creation of the first North American Mobile Service.

John Legere, CEO and President of T-Mobile mentioned the AT&T acquisition when he discussed the new T-Mobile ‘Mobile without Borders’ services. Legere said that they beat AT&T to the punch and, are doing so in the better way because they are providing these services to and from Canada as well without charging customers more money for them.

CEOs of Sprint and T-Mobile Have It Out on Twitter and the Whole World Watches - http://clapway.com/2015/07/05/ceos-of-sprint-and-t-mobile-have-it-out-on-twitter-and-the-whole-tech-world-watches223/

CEOs of Sprint and T-Mobile have had truly a confrontation one a popular social media platform, Twitter this past week. John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile and Marcelo Claure, CEO of Sprint.

LEGERE SHAMELESSLY PROMOTES T-MOBILE

John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile, has truly made a name for himself for shamelessly advertising in attempts to advance T-Mobile’s services without any consideration of his rival phone carriers. This, without a doubt rubbed off on the CEO of another wireless phone carrier. Late on Twitter Wednesday night, Legere scrutinized “All In”. This is another pricing plan that Sprint has come out with. Claure, Sprint’s CEO, reacted to Legere’s feedback with a series of tweets calling the pricing plans of T-Mobile to be misleading to the customer.

This is not the first time Legere has made remarks about different wireless phone carriers. He has made remarks to the two biggest carriers In the United States: Verizon and AT&T.

ceos of sprint and t-mobile BOTH PETITIONED THE FCC FOR MARKET SHARING

This past spring, T-Mobile and Sprint requested of the Federal Communications Commission, or FCC, to grow the pool of wireless transmissions be sold to the smaller carriers like T-Mobile and Sprint in the next year. Verizon and AT&T have considerable larger amounts of market sharing in the market shares. Their amount of market sharing is currently a lot larger than the other two carriers.

CLAUDE says t-mobile ‘WORSE THAN THE OTHER TWO CARRIERS TOGETHER’

Claude made a remark on Twitter that Legere and T-Mobile were “worse than the other two carriers together”. He then stated that Sprint’s new “All In” is a ‘hit and miss’. He then compared Sprint to the two bigger carriers, Verizon and T-Mobile. In addition to these tweets, there was very colorful language accessorizing his tweets. To top it all off, Claure tweeted at John Legere that he was tired of him and his “uncarrier *expletive* and ended his tweet with #Tmobilelikehell. This was in response to Legere’s earlier #Sprintlikehll remark.

Claure reacted to these remarks by stating that imitation is a joke. He then says that T- Mobile tricks people into thinking that they have a 15 dollar iPhone lease when it isn’t true. He also says that they let their customers believe that they can update their phones up to three times, but fail to tell them that the bill goes up $27 when they do. He then ends his tweet with #Tmobilelikehell.

Legere finished this session of the fight hours after the fact saying, “you mad bro?” The T-Mobile advertising office has declined to make any official remarks, saying that Legere represents himself. This fight between the CEOs of sprint and t-mobile is a spicy one for sure.
