New Pebble Watch is Pretty But Impractical - http://clapway.com/2015/11/06/pebble-watch-is-pretty-but-impractical123/

The new Pebble Time watch has just been released, and it’s more token for style than for efficiency. The Pebble Time watch, called the Pebble Time Round, which already looks and feels like a more sophisticated alternative to other smart watches, and it will hit stores as of November 8 at $249.

The new Pebble Watch is thinner and lighter than other competitors, and it can be idealized for smaller wrists. It has a shorter battery life, though, and it is not nearly as waterproof as its predecessors. Pebble Time Round is a very good looking device, but it’s had to sacrifice a handful of things for the sake of aesthetics that lessen the value of the device at an alarming rate.

The Pebble Time Round carries a sense of maturity that other watches of its kind and make lack, but it can’t go on swims and doesn’t have as many features as other smart watches on the market. It’s better fit for people who intend to use the smart watch as a watch and not for the sake of its technological features. Its elegance is not worth the short battery life, which will last two days at most, so it’s best to keep this watch for showing off and not for actual functionality.

Are we all truly #happy with #AppleWatch? #Surveys are in - http://clapway.com/2015/07/21/are-you-as-happy-with-your-apple-watch-as-surveys-report-112/

Wearable tech has been on the rise for a couple of years now, and even though Apple was a bit late to the game with the Apple Watch, a new study shows that Apple Watch users are more satisfied with their newest tech gadget than they are with any other Apple branded device.

The Apple Watch Boasts a 97 Percent Satisfaction Rating

This customer satisfaction survey, performed by Wristly Apple Watcher Owner Network, gathered data about the Apple Watch from a pool of more than 800 participants. In the study, 31 percent of the candidates indicated that they were “somewhat” satisfied with the Apple Watch, but a majority of the candidates were “very satisfied/delighted” by the watch, making up 66 percent of the votes. With the help of some basic math, Wristly wisely summed up that 97 percent of Apple Watch users were totally satisfied with their purchase.

By comparison, the Apple Watch trumps user satisfaction ratings when stacked up against the original iPhone (92 percent satisfaction), and the original iPad (91% satisfaction). It should be noted that the original customer satisfaction surveys were done by ChangeWay Research, and aren’t directly relatable since the methodology used to gather the results are unclear.

The Apple Watch is More Popular Among the Non-Tech Crowd

Wristly didn’t give any specifics on demographical information, but they did note that 9 percent of the participants reported having a job building or marketing mobile apps, 34 percent reported that they had varying roles within the tech industry, and that 53 percent of the candidates were just everyday tech users.

Out of the non-tech users, 99 percent of the pool indicated that they were satisfied, using the same metrics as Wristly. Surprisingly, the other groups were slightly less satisfied with the device. While total user satisfaction among the tech savvy was still 96 percent and above, 33 percent of tech insiders reported being only “somewhat” satisfied, and 54 percent of app builders were “somewhat” satisfied.

Silencing the Critics

Since its release, the Apple Watch has received a lukewarm response from critics. One of the biggest points of contention was its $349 starting point. However, of the 800 candidates, 73 percent of the participants believed that the watch was “a very good value, worth more than it costs.” Again, there is no info about demographics, so it’s impossible to understand how accurately this reflects popular public opinion, but it is interesting to see that only 12 percent of the candidates reported it being a poor value.

The survey also shows, unsurprisingly, that build quality and design were the two highest rated features of the watch with 95 percent of the participants reporting in as satisfied for both. Customers seem to be the most dissatisfied with the watch’s performance (12 percent), however.

While it certainly isn’t definitive, this consumer survey does indicate that Apple Watch customers are welcoming their newest gadget to the family with open arms.
