Apple Store Now With Aggressive Ads, At Least Google Store Ads Can Be Removed - http://clapway.com/2015/12/13/apple-store-now-with-aggressive-ads-at-least-google-store-ads-can-be-removed/

Apple made some very good improvements with their latest iOS 9.2 updates. However, they also made an update that will have certain users throwing their phone on the ground. All users using an Apple phone newer than the iPhone 5s are going to be fine. However, if you use an iPhone that is 5s or older, you might want to hear this news about aggressive ads. Hey, at least in Google Store they can be removed.

APPLE RELEASES RIDICULOUS ADS FOR THEIR APPLE STORE

Let’s face it, nobody likes to receive annoying ads that will not stop coming. It is one of, if not the most, annoying aspects to deal with on technology devices. However, Apple does not seem to care. They just recently released their update for the iOS 9.2, and it will aggressively pop up ads noting users to upgrade to their iPhone 6s. This is why if you use this phone already the ads will not show up. It is only for users who update their iOS 9.2 with a phone older than that. Also, manual skipping is required to close the ads. This will lead users to have to stop what they are doing and close the ad. Apple clearly wants their users to upgrade their device, but this might be the wrong way to do it.

2. Google Ads

GOOGLE STORE HAS ADS TOO, BUT THEY CAN BE REMOVED

When users download apps from the Google Store, there is always a possibility of downloading ads with them. However, there is an app that can be downloaded to remove them. The AirPush Detector app will detect ads on the OS and it will alert users to remove them. Once that is done, they will not have to worry about those ads again. Ads are the best way for companies to push their products, but it is still annoying to users.

GOOGLE STORE MORE TOLERABLE THAN APPLE STORE

Google Store is going to become more tolerable than Apple Store after this. This is going for the people who have an iPhone 5s or older. Perhaps Apple’s purpose in this is to just annoy the ever living crap out of their iPhone 5s users until they break down and upgrade. Either this or it will backfire on them and they will just switch to a Google phone. Anyway you look at it, though, Apple Store just became more irritating.

Man Brings Katana to Apple Store to Play Real Fruit Ninja - http://clapway.com/2015/11/21/man-brings-katana-to-apple-store-to-play-real-fruit-ninja123/

A sword-wielding man brought Apple’s flagship New York store to standstill as he threatened to kill himself in front of hundreds of people before being tackled by off-duty police. In the fashion of a real Fruit Ninja game, the man came in with intention to burst a watermelon, though the authorities were able to stop this just in time.

Panic at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue

Hsu Chien walked into the Apple Store on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue and walked up to its second level before pulling out a katana blade and shouting at onlookers he was going to kill himself. One shopper managed to capture the scene on video. Wearing a hat and sunglasses, Mr Chien can be seen brandishing the samurai sword and swinging it at the air as he walks back and forth on the store’s spiral staircase.

At one point, the 30-year-old begins to count down, leading to many in the store to panic and run for the exits as they fear he might have a bomb. As Mr Chien continued to swing the sword around, it slipped from his grasp – giving two off-duty police officers the opportunity to tackle him and remove the sword.

The Slip Up that Saved His Life and Others’, Too

After the incident in the Apple Store, Mr Chien was then taken to hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, and was later charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. The incident was not terror-related, police confirmed.

This will undoubtedly bring in extra security at the Apple Store in Fifth Avenue, and potentially other Apple Store establishments in the city. Thankfully, this event was stopped before anything drastic could happen.

If you"re unsatisfied with your #iPhone6, Apple"s got you covered with #iSight. Find out more here. - http://clapway.com/2015/08/23/apple-introduces-a-camera-replacement-program-for-iphone-6-plus-users-442/

If you’ve been a faithful iPhone 6 Plus user then you might have noticed that some of your snapped photos turned out to be blurrier than they should have been. Good news: Apple announced a new camera replacement program called iSight.

What is iSight?

On Thursday Apple introduced a new camera replacement program called iSight, which will cover a “small percentage” of all iPhone 6 Plus smartphones sold between September 2014 and January 2015. There aren’t any details on what exactly is causing the phones to sometimes produce blurry images. There is some speculation that it could be a flaw in the iPhone 6 Plus’ optical image stabilization since it’s an omitted feature from the original iPhone 6.

Apple says the iSight program will allow users to send in their iPhone 6 Plus to be replaced absolutely free.

Is You Phone Affected?

If you’ve owned your iPhone 6 Plus since the beginning and haven’t noticed any blurry images yet, then chances are you’re fine. If you have shaky hands and aren’t quite sure then Apple has provided a way for users to check whether or not their phone is eligible for replacement.

Keep up with Clapway’s Apple related news here!

The first thing you’ll want to do is find your phone’s serial number. To do this you just need to follow this path: Settings — General — About. You could also find the same number on your iTunes summary page, or on the box your phone came in. Once you’ve got it, just head over to this site and plug that number into the serial number box on the site.

Limitations

There are a few caveats to the program, but nothing that doesn’t make sense. First off, if you have any major defects–like a broken screen–then Apple is asking that you replace the screen before sending it in. Also, depending on the state of condition your iPhone 6 Plus is in, you may need to pay a fee for the repair. The only work Apple will be doing on the device is in regards to the camera. Fortunately, Apple is allowing users a three year window to replace their cameras after they purchase the device.

If you believe your iPhone 6 Plus is affected, go ahead and visit your nearest authorized service provider for more details.

Apple Redesigns Website and Integrates Shopping into Main Website - http://clapway.com/2015/08/07/apple-redesigns-website-and-integrates-shopping-into-main-website123/

Yesterday, Apple went live with their newly designed website. Now, shoppers will no longer see a “shop” button on the navigation bar at the very top of the page. The features that were formerly under the “shop” tab have since been integrated into all of the product pages.

APPLE REDESIGNS WEBSITE: NO LONGER BE A STORE.APPLE.COM URL

The separate “store.apple.com” URL for Apple products will also be removed; rather, all of the content will be displayed under “apple.com”. Consumers no longer have to research a product in one area of the site, only to have to switch over to “apple.com” in order to make a purchase. All of the e-commerce links and research assets will be in the same place.

As an example, when customers head over to the new MacBook section of the site, they will see a main image at the top of the page with two links under it that read “learn more” and “buy”. The first option will take the consumer to a section to learn more about the product. The second option takes the user to the area of the site where he or she can make a purchase.

PURCHASING ACCESSORIES HAS ALSO BEEN CHANGED

Furthermore, the “Accessories” tab on the main navigation bar of the site has also been removed. Instead, the links to the different varieties of accessories are now grouped with their associated products on the landing pages of the products. iPad cases, for example, are linked to the iPad page, iPhone cases are linked to the iPhone page and mouse pads are linked to the Mac pages.

APPLE  REDESIGNS WEBSITE TO MAKE IT EASIER TO DRIVE SALES

This new design integrates online shopping and product information under one domain. This is important because the website is largely being utilized to sell more products, rather than just serving as a tool to provide information about them. This also makes it easier for Apple to predict and control inventory levels, as opposed to how the process is conducted in a brick-and-mortar store. According to Apple, more than one billion people from over 40 countries visit the site every year.

Are Some of Your Apps Eating Up All Your Data? - http://clapway.com/2015/07/26/are-some-of-your-apps-eating-up-all-your-data345/

If you have ever wondered why your favorite app isn’t running as smoothly on your phone with all the internal storage that you have? Well, you might be on to something. There are apparently a few ads in apps that slow down your phone, but they are never shown.

A LOT OF APPS HAVE PAID ADS ON THEM BUT THEY ARENT SHOWN

It’s actually quite a large controversy. Why would an app pretend to show ads, but not actually show them? It’s actually quite simple. People are usually unhappy when an app has too many ads for their liking. So, app designers will want to have less ads. A lot of people have opted for the ad-free apps and some apps even require you to pay for the ability to use your favorite apps without ads getting in the way of your experience. This is one of the most common option for a lot of app developers. Other apps have gone for another way of not featuring ads in the app – by charging a small amount of money to purchase it. This is to the advantage that there will no longer be a need to further program the app to make the ads fit inside them. This also means there isn’t a need for ads to provide revenue for the app designers. The downside is that people are less likely to purchase apps that cost money.

15% OF ALL APP DOWNLOADS HAVE ADS IN THE BACKGROUND

Fifteen percent of all app downloads have ads load in the background. Ads that are never displayed to you. These aps being loaded on your phone, but never seen, use up a lot of the data on your phone. This can add up to your phone data up to 2GB per day. These are videos and images that advertising companies pay for, but app designers are getting the money and not showing you the ads.

THIS INVESTIGATION WAS DONE BY A FRAUD DETECTION FIRM FOR APPS

This investigation was run by Forensiq, a fraudulent detection firm for ads. Thirteen percent of the ads given were not shown. This test was done across all three major operating systems which are Android, iOS for Apple, and Windows Phones. These apps are forbidden from all three of the app stores: Google Play, App Store and the Windows Store. The researchers behind this fraud investigation say that the best way to prevent these apps from using up all of your RAM, is to not use apps that you aren’t sure if they are going online or not.
