Is #Polygamist #Marriage the next uphill battle? With its growth. - http://clapway.com/2015/08/20/polygamist-wedding-legalizing-gay-marriage-encouraged-legalization-of-polygamy-243/

1967, blacks are permitted to marry whites; 2015, men are permitted to marry men; what’s next? Legal analysts believe the next bill to be passed in this country could be legalizing polygamist marriage.

What is it?

Polygamist Marriage is the union including more than two partners. There is a more specific breakdown of Polygamy. Polygyny is a marriage between one man and multiple women. Polyandry is the union of one woman and multiple men. And lastly, Polyamory represents a marriage having both multiple husbands and wives. And despite the fact that Polygamist marriage in illegal in the United States, 30,000 to 50,000 people are living in plural families across the country.

Gays Encourage Polygamy

“Advocates of same-sex marriage mock the musings of those who wonder if polygamy is the next gay marriage. They accuse those who ask the question of claiming that “the sky is falling in” and of listing “all the horrible consequences that will inevitably flow from the misguided views of the majority,” said Joe Wolverton, II, J.D., writer for TheNewAmerican.com. Mainly Christians against gay marriage see the possibility of the legalization of polygamist marriage in America. Christians believe the relaxed and open culture Americans will lead to polygamy in America.

The Happy Polygamist: Legalize Polygamy

Bill Donahue, President of Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, makes a statement opposing the possibility of polygamy in the U.S. and agreeing with William Baude’s (opinion writer for the NY Times) idea that the legalization of same-sex marriage has not encouraged a future for polygamist marriage.

“Mr. Baude concludes by saying that ‘once we abandon the rigid constraints of history, we cannot be sure that we know where the future will take us.’ It would be more accurate to say that once we abandon the logical constraints of natural law, we cannot be sure what the future holds,” said Donahue. Baude explains that the majority of the population in which approve of same-sex marriage, do not support polygamist life.

Polygamist Wedding: Has Legalizing Gay Marriage Encouraged the Legalization of Polygamy? - Clapway

These are definitely things worthy of rejoice thanks to June 26th historical decision! - http://clapway.com/2015/06/29/3-benefits-of-making-same-sex-marriage-just-marriage/

It’s official! On Friday, June 26, same-sex marriage became just marriage. It was legalized in all 50 states and we all became witnesses to this moment in history. This is something we will be able to tell our grandchildren one day: “I was standing right outside the Supreme Court when they announced that me and your grandfather could get married anywhere in the country.” Although it was a 5–4 decision and I would have preferred it be unanimous, progress is progress. Majority rules! I love democracy. There are a number of benefits of making same-sex marriage just marriage and here are three you should now:

1. Better Weddings

It is no secret that gays are more stylish, fashion forward, and more creative than the rest of the population. Don’t deny it, it’s true. Accept it and move on. Our innate creativity allows us to throw the best parties and events. And if you’re invited to a gay wedding, definitely get ready for the time of your life.

2. More Adoptions, Happier Kids

Adoptions are easier for couples that are married. Hopefully, more same-sex couples will start to adopt more children in need. When these children are adopted, they will be the happiest children on the planet. Same-sex couples understand diversity and practice acceptance, allowing children to be true to themselves. Adopted children of same-sex couples will also never have to want for anything. Gay couples plan for children. They make sure that their finances are intake and that they have enough time to take on the responsibility. Unlike parents who have children because they forget to take the pill, gay parents prepare their lives for a new member of the family.

3. Focus On a New Cause

Now that we have conquered same-sex marriage, it is time to move on to a new cause. There are so many problems and issues out in the world that need our attention. Let’s all put our focus on to making history and bringing big changes to our world in a new way.

Although, I only listed three benefits of making same-sex marriage legal, there are plenty more out there. I’m sure if you pay close attention you will start to see our society developing a better well-being. Not to mention that this will boost our economy with the increase in the amount of weddings and honeymoons. Same-sex marriage is now just marriage. No matter your sexual orientation, remember that Friday, June 26, was a win.

Facebook and Other Tech Companies Painted the Internet Rainbow - http://clapway.com/2015/06/27/facebook-and-other-tech-companies-painted-the-internet-rainbow765/

June 26 was one of the biggest days for the LGBT community within the United States. The Supreme Court decided in a 5-4 vote that marriage between people of the same sex was constitutional. This made it mandatory for all states to allow same sex marriage. Previously, it was left up to the state to decide whether or not it would acknowledge and allow same sex marriage.

THE INTERNET WAS PAINTED IN A RAINBOW

On the internet, a lot of rainbows appeared everywhere in support of the Supreme Court decision. Web browsers across the globe have exploded into a rainbow of color to this news. Thousands have already used Facebook’s new one-click gay-marriage tool to add the colors of the rainbow flag or the gay pride flag, to their profile pictures. One of the first people to use this tool was Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg. He also made a statement via his official page to commend the Supreme Court’s ruling.

If you aren’t sure about whether or not you would like your profile picture to have a rainbow cast over it, the Celebrate Pride Facebook page will show you a preview of what your profile picture will look like. Click the “use as profile picture” button will automatically add this feature to your current profile picture.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME FACEBOOK HAS MADE THIS ITS OWN TOOL

During different state’s legalization of same sex marriage, users have uploaded rainbow flags to their pictures to mark these victories. This is, however, the first time that Facebook has made this a tool of its own.

FACEBOOK ISNT THE ONLY TECH COMPANY DOING THIS

Facebook isn’t the only tech company celebrating the Supreme Court ruling. Google added artwork with the colors of the rainbow flag that is widely associated with LGBT pride on search result pages with phrases like “same sex marriage” and “gay marriage”.

A lot of people are participating in this recent Facebook tool and find it quite appropriate for the tech giant to acknowledge such a day in history. All over Facebook there are profile pictures with rainbow casts over them from people who are in the LGBT community as well as supporters of marriage equality.
