HP has announced the launch of the new Sprout Pro, an all-in-one laptop that can scan real objects and create 3D printing models. The only problem? It is even more expensive than the latest Apple Macbook Pro.

New HP Sprout Pro Supports 3D Printing

The Sprout all-in-one was first introduced in 2014. The new design comes without a mouse or a keyboard, now featuring a touch screen and its own built-in projector. The new laptop is being marketed for hobbyists and creators, but it can easily be applied to classroom and business environments.

The new Sprout platform has instant 2D/3D scanning. It even supports augmented reality and dual screens. It’s one more milestone towards HP’s goal of spreading Blended Reality. With its 2D and 3D scanners, the PC also has a 23″ display. It is supported by Intel RealSense 3D camera setup and has it’s accompanying projector.

It features the latest generation of Intel Chips, the 6th generation Core i7 with enhanced graphics. It also features a special version of Skype for Business, which can capture 2D footage. The Sprout Pro has 18 hours of battery life and advanced wireless networking features.

The New Sprout Pro is More Expensive Than an Apple Macbook

The major setback with this amazing PC is its price tag. At $2,199, it won’t be accessible to many people. HP representatives are boasting about how the Sprout Pro will revolutionize classrooms and conferences, but it may not change that much if it the PC doesn’t sell well. The latest Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display is more affordable though it doesn’t feature 2D or 3D scanning. The new laptop is expected to launch officially in February.

HP is also releasing an Education Edition of the HP Pro 310 x360 convertible and ProBook 11 G2. These new upgraded PCs will have improved battery life. The new ProBook edition will be priced at $359 and launch in February. The Pro 310 x360 will cost $449 and will be launching in March.

Is HP Worth the Money?

3D printing is a fresh trend among tech giants, and many laptops and desktops will start to feature compatible soft and hardware. Is it worth paying more than $2,000? Maybe it will be feasible for some schools, but HP won’t be able to reach their intended audience right away.

The Consumer Electronics Show displays a wide range of electronics, and the most hilarious ones are always the copycats. This year, Samsung, Lenovo, LG and HP revealed their own versions of the Macbook and Apple TV. Apple is still a king at the show, and it seems other firms are trying their best to get some of the spotlight.

Samsung Doesn’t Know How to Give Up

Samsung has had great slams with Apple in the past. In the latest of the lawsuits between these two giants was revealed a guidebook that showed Samsung employees how to replicate the iPhone to the last thread. Now Samsung is faced with a $548 million initial fine and a second $120 million one. All these lawsuits did was prove that Samsung relies on Apple for the design of their new products, almost like praying to a God.

It can’t be denied that Apple has become a global force in very little time. Great things are always replicated, and it is no different in this case. Most recently, Samsung unveiled a new TV that looks like an exact replica of the Apple TV 4. It introduces the Samsung tvOS interface, which even copies the channel app icon size.

Lenovo Targets Apple Macbooks

The Apple Macbook has changed the entire computer game. Since the release of the Macbook Air, Intel has had tireless efforts to replicate its appeal. It released the Ultrabook, and it’s a flattering copy.

Chinese Lenovo has good guns on their side of the field. They recently bought IBM’s PC business and Motorola Mobility. Despite all of that, it still paid careful attention to marketing their products exactly how Apple’s Macbooks are arranged.

LG and HP Offer An Alternative to High-End Apple Products

LG and HP don’t fall to far behind. LG unveiled the LG Gram 15, in the same design of the 15″ Macbook and in the same rose gold finish. The LG Gram 15 runs Windows 10, but only features 7 hours of battery life.

HP unveiled the EliteBook Folio, obviously inspired by Apple. This is an attempt to upgrade the general look of their usual Windows PC. This new laptop gives PC customers the option to go from buying a $300 PC to an Apple. The EliteBook Folio costs $999.

Apple has been upstaging the Consumer Electronics Show for fifteen years. That leaves other companies to steal back some of the spotlight by copying them.

HP has been on the decline lately. In their latest numbers that were posted for the final quarter, it was revealed that their PC sales have dropped off 13%. Their notebooks have not done well either as they have dropped off 8%. Microsoft released their Surface Pro 4 and it was competing with them. It sounds like they will try to best Microsoft with their latest Elite x2 1012 2 in 1 tablet.

THE HP ELITE X2 1012 HAS FEATURES THAT THE MICROSOFT SURFACE PRO 4 DOES NOT HAVE

Before the advantages of the Elite x2 are stated, there are two big aspects that the Surface Pro 4 has over it. It has a higher resolution of 2736 x 1824 while HP’s device has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It also has a more powerful processor with i5 and i7 dual processors. However, the advantages end there for the Surface Pro 4. HP stated that their device was made with aluminum while the Surface Pro 4 is not. They also stated that their device will offer an LTE wireless connectivity option along with vPro technology. The integrated technology provides more security features for the BIOS.

HP AND MICROSOFT 2 IN 1 TABLETS ARE SIMILAR IN SOME WAYS

HP has announced that their device will cost $899, which is the same price as the Surface Pro 4. Also, ironically enough, both of these tablets have the same operating system. The Elite x2 is set to have the Windows 10 OS, which is what the Surface Pro 4 has. The reason why this is ironic is because Microsoft is the one who created this operating system. HP is competing with them with their latest device, but it has Microsoft’s operating system on it.

WHEN WILL HP RELEASE THEIR TABLET?

They recently announced that their plan is to release the Elite x2 1012 in January of 2016. This would mean that next month it will be available for the public. It will be fun to see how many of these they sell, and if their plan for it to defeat Microsoft’s Surface Pro will come to fruition.

HP and Movado have joined forces to officially announce that they are set to release their brand new bold motion smartwatch. There is no official announcement about when this smartwatch will be released, but it can be assumed it will be available in time for the holidays.

This new motion smartwatch, although reported at being $795 at retail, could very much be worth it after reading its fantastic features. According to HP and Movado, this smartwatch will come with Bluetooth connectivity and will be compatible with any Android and iOS devices. It will also come with a 44mm stainless steel case for ultimate protection and will also feature a black PVD finished bezel. This motion smartwatch will also come with some style. It is reported that any time the user receives an e-mail, call, appointment, text message, or social media alert via their connected device that the smartwatch will glow teal with its built in LED indicators. This device will not have a screen, but it can reportedly be controlled via a companion app, which can be downloaded with Google Play.

The two companies have also stated that this device will have an absolutely insane battery life of one week, but when the battery runs out it can indeed be charged. This bold motion smartwatch can do more than just alert users on messages however. According to details, Movado’s motion smartwatch can track users steps and users can also set daily fitness goals via the companion app. Maybe the only drawback to this smartwatch, other than the insane price, is the fact that users will not be able to read texts or messages on the device itself. It will alert users of notifications, but will not actually show them.

WORTH IT?

There is no questioning that this new motion smartwatch from Movado and HP has the goods, but is this device going to be worth it with its ridiculous price. Paying over $700 for any technology device is a lot of money, but paying that kind of money for a watch just seems absurd. Now this is not discounting that this device looks amazing, it is just $795 is a lot of money any way you slice it. For people who have money to throw around this smartwatch’s price will not be an issue, but for others it very much could be. It can be expected that Movado and HP’s new bold motion smartwatch, although not officially announced, will be available in time for the holidays and it could no doubt be a tremendous gift for anybody.

Global information technology company Hewlett-Packard, commonly known as HP, is planning to release a new and improved version of their Chromebook 14 and this one will have some great updated features. According to HP, they are set to release this new version of Chromebook in November.

The New Features

The new Chromebook is set to have several fantastic new gimmicks and arguably the biggest one, and HP’s biggest selling point, is the new and improved battery life. HP was stated as saying that their new notebook will be able to run for over nine hours on just one single charge. That is a full one hour improvement over the original Chromebook 14, which would run for a formidable eight hours on a single charge.

Now, obviously, eight hours is already a good amount of battery life, but HP decided to go even longer. This new notebook will also have two different versions for sale; one with a standard HD display resolution of 1366×768 and one with a full HD display resolution of 1920×1080. The full HD resolution Chromebook will be $30 more expensive than the standard resolution.

HP also stated that this new notebook will come with a brand new dual-core Intel Celeron N2840 processor that is a much more improved version of their previous Nvidia Tegra K1 processor. This new notebook will also come with 2 GB of RAM, 16GB of hard drive space, and 100 GB of Google Drive cloud storage that Google promised would be valid for two years.

Is It Worth A Grab?

As someone who has used a Chromebook before, it’s safe to say it is not like a traditional computer, so the decision to buy one really depends on what purposes people have for their laptops.

Basically, because the new Chromebook is being released with only 2 GB of RAM and only 16 GB of hard drive space, it is not a good computer for someone who wants to use it as a file-based computer. Most computers released with Windows 7 or Windows 8 or a Mac operating system will have 400 plus gigabytes of hard drive space that will allow them to hold a lot of data.

Best for Web Surfing

With only 16 GB of hard drive space, it is impossible to use a Chromebook for holding all of your files. The Chromebook, however, is an absolutely perfect computer for surfing on the web. It has a built-in virus protection software and essentially the entire point of the laptop is for web surfing and web surfing only. For anyone looking to do nothing more than web surfing, by all means take a closer look, but if you’re looking to store files on your computer,  then it is best to stand clear and look for something with better storage capacity.
