How a hot #fat implant might be to to reduce your #weight - http://clapway.com/2015/08/23/hot-fat-implants-to-reduce-weight-422/

HOW HOT FAT MAKES AN APPEARANCE

In recent news, scientists at the University of Berkeley have developed a way to encourage the growth of hot fat (also known as “brown fat”) that aids in reducing weight and low blood sugar in mice subjects. The study is available to read online in the Diabetes journal.

In the University of Berkeley’s press release made available by the university, the hot fat implant was shown to produce the favorable results mentioned in the beginning, involving the use of the fat to help burn the calories. The implications of this study have some promising potential, according to one of the researchers of the study, Kevin Tharp, a student in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology.

FURTHER ILLUMINATION ON THE RESEARCH

Before, what was known about brown fat was that it disappeared as one grew older, but can still be found in certain areas of the body in adults. According to him, the potential uses for the hot fat implant could be applied to a great deal of things such as being used for therapy.

In the mice tested on for the study, not only has the hot fat had a positive impact on the mice’s metabolism and health, but it also helps them produce heat. This is evident in a thermograph when viewing a place with no implant in the mice, and the opposite side of the mice where the hot fat implant does exist. The latter was shown to have a warmer temperature than the former.

HOW THE IMPLANT CAME TO BE

When a body is cold, a flip happens and more food is usually eaten. So to explore the hot fat research more, researchers toyed with the idea of promoting more growth of hot fat without the cold temperatures that would negate the effects of it.

Researchers took on the task of experimenting with stem cells in a soft 3D mesh of hydrogel and other things that would allow the stem cells to grow into fat instead of bone. After the conversion, they placed the new fat into the mice genetically engineered with an enzyme from fireflies that illuminate in order to track better. The now known increase in body temperature was recorded in the initial observations and in the accompanying high-fat diet gained only half as much weight as those without the implants did and had lower blood sugar.

With the promising results of the hot fat in mice, researchers are excited to see what the effects would be like on humans. But also how it can change the health concerns surrounding obesity and its related afflictions to something that is not so pressing or not so much a concern.

%#BigButts are the new sexy and women are getting dangerous #injections to achieve this look.% - http://clapway.com/2015/08/22/i-like-big-butts-and-i-cannot-lie-butt-injections-lead-to-death-101

Big Butts are the new sexy and women are going to extreme lengths to achieve this look. “Last year, a staggering 10,000 buttock augmentation procedures were performed in the United States, which is up 16 percent from 2012,” according to Chanel Park, writer for the Huffington Post. A woman lost her life due to society’s new obsession with big butts this past march. 44 year-old Vinnie Lysander Taylor was charged with murder for giving a woman butt injections that eventually led to her death.

THE SILICONE INJECTION

Taylor was charged with the misuse of medical equipment. “Taylor traveled the country injecting women with silicone that he said would give them larger buttocks,” according to Taylor’s indictment. He used food grade silicone for the procedure which is typically used to make molds to use for food that begin as liquids and solidify. Although the substance is nontoxic for human consumption, it hinders a different affect once injected into the body. “Taylor stored the liquid silicone in plastic bottles that were not labeled nor approved by federal authorities for that purpose. Therefore, the liquid silicone was adulterated and misbranded,” according to federal authorities.

THE ILLEGAL INJECTION BUSINESS

Taylor developed branches of a clothing store named Shuga K’s. He purchased locations in Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. He ordered the silicone from Clearco Products, a Pennsylvania company using the name of his franchise. “Clearco mailed him gallon jugs of the stuff about 180 times, from 2008 to 2014,” said Julie Zauzmer, writer for The Washington Post, Taylor injected seven different women in 2013 and 2014 and a woman injected in a hotel in Capitol Heights, died after the procedure.

THE AFTERMATH

“The person listed as his defense attorney in court records did not respond to a request for comment on Wednesday,” said Zauzmer. Taylor is being held in Maryland on state charges. He is facing sentencing for second-degree murder and a maximum sentence of three years in prison for each of nine counts of receipt of a misbranded and adulterated device for delivery for pay with intent to defraud or mislead.

On #obesity, it might not be your fault. And scientists want to help you cure your #hereditary issue. - http://clapway.com/2015/08/20/scientists-discovered-how-obesity-works-to-treat-it-324/

The key gene connected to obesity, responsible for people getting fatter, has finally been figured out. Scientists anticipate this to offer a totally new approach to the problem. It seems like a strict diet and intensive workouts will no longer be the only solutions to obesity, whose mysteries have just been solved.

THE FTO OBESITY GENE

In 2007, researchers found out that there was a gene that was somehow related to obesity, but they were not able to connect it to appetite and other factors. However, now we know that the FTO gene has an evil, faulty version that stores energy from food as fat, and does not let it get burnt.  What the experiments show is quite positive, though, since tests on mice and human cells indicate that this can be reversed and the hope of a drug or other treatment might be developed.

Responsible for this research are scientists from Harvard University and MIT, who published their study online on Wednesday on  the New England Journal of Medicine.

OBESITY IS NOT ALL ABOUT EATING

Melina Slaussnitzer, lead author of the study and genetics specialist at Harvard-affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, says that this discovery is an answer to those who believe that obesity is a choice: “For the first time, genetics has revealed a mechanism in obesity that was not really suspected before,” she says.

Dr. Clifforf Rosen, associate editor at the medical journal and scientist at Maine Medical Center Research Institute, says that “it’s a big deal,” and that obesity is not all about eating, but how the FTO gene decides to store energy and use food. With this discovery, “you now have a pathway for drugs that can make those fat cells work differently,” he continued.

BUT THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL

So far, there has not been an obesity drug that would fight the problem long-term targeting metabolism. Most of them just aim at the brain and affect appetite in many different ways, but scientists are positive that this is going to change. Even though we cannot guess how long it might take before a new drug based on the new data becomes available, they say that it will not be something like a magic pill. People will not be able to eat whatever they want without gaining weight and targeting fat pathway could affect other things.

Eating habits and exercise are still important since the gene glitch does not explain all obesity. Actually, FTO was found in 44 percent of Europeans but only 5 percent of blacks suggesting that there are other genes at work, as well.

Manolis Kellis, MIT professor, says that having the glitch doesn’t make you doomed to become obese but may predispose you to it: “People with two faulty copies of the gene (one from Mom and one from Dad) weighed an average of 7 pounds more than those without them. But some were a lot heavier than that, and 7 pounds can be the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy weight.”

A CURE IS ON THE WAY

With more than half a billion obese people in the world, the necessity of a drug which can hit obesity in its nucleus is getting bigger and bigger. The experiments, as the journal describes, anyway, show that scientists are already getting close to creating a new pill that will change the way experts fight obesity and the diseases it hosts.
