TV streaming is growing and growing and Apple TV is certainly a part of that growth. As a matter of fact, it is safe to say that it is the future of TV streaming. Chromecast and Roku both offer good packages and services, but they do not possess the future like Apple does.
APPLE TV IS THE FUTURE OF TV STREAMING
Tim Cook, who is the CEO of Apple, believes that the future is now. Cook stated that he believes the future of television is apps. He declared that statement when the company unveiled their TV back in September of this year. Their Apple TV allows users to stream movies and TV Shows from iTunes. Not only this but apps can be downloaded from their App Store to stream content from CBS All Access, Hulu, Netflix, and many others. Another cool thing to keep in mind is Apple is always updating their App Store.
ONLY ONE THING MISSING FROM APPLE TV
There is really only one major feature missing to the Apple TV. That feature is an app for Amazon Prime Video. With Amazon Prime Video, users can access an enormous library of top-of-the-line original TV series. However, there is still a way to watch it, it is just less convenient. Users must use an Apple feature, called AirPlay, to stream the video from your iPhone, or iPad, onto your Apple TV Screen. The good thing is that rumors across the web have indicated this could change in the future.
CHROMECAST AND ROKU ARE GOOD, BUT ARE NOT THE FUTURE
Roku actually has much more content than the Apple TV, but it lacks one major software. iTunes is not present on Roku, as well as not being present on the Chromecast. Chromecast and Roku also do not have an app for the Amazon Prime Video. If the rumors about Apple TV getting Amazon Prime Video are true, then it would most likely blow Chromecast and Roku out of the water.
WHETHER ITS APPLE TV, CHROMECAST, OR ROKU TV STREAMING IS GROWING
One thing that can be rest assured is TV streaming is rapidly growing. There are other devices besides these three that stream TV shows and movies, as well. This should just be the beginning of TV streaming. Cook was spot on when he said the future of television is apps.
