GoPro is almost set and ready to release their new GoPro gimbal. This will be the world’s very first rainproof 3-axis gimbal equipped with Bluetooth technology. This will also make the already impressive GoPro HERO 4 even better.
WHAT THE GOPRO GIMBAL IS
This device, as mentioned earlier, is a 3-axis gimbal. A gimbal is a pivoted support that allows an object to rotate on a single axis. However, the GoPro Gimbal will have 3 axes. This can be mounted anywhere that a GoPro can be mounted. So, it can be mounted on bikes, on your helmet, or even on yourself. There is also a detachable hand grip so users can control the device from a good distance. It is officially called the REMOVU S1, and it looks like it is a terrific gimbal for anybody.
THE KEY POINTS TO THE GOPRO GIMBAL
As stated previously, this gimbal has integrated Bluetooth technology. When a user removes the detachable wireless joystick, you can alter the angle of the camera and also change modes. The gimbal will also be very easy to mount and dismount. It takes only one-click to mount the gimbal, and the same click to dismount it. Users will not have to worry about the gimbal getting wet either. The device is built to be water resistant, and will hold up under very poor weather conditions. LED displays are also present on the gimbal for the interface.
THE GOPRO HERO 4 AMONG THOSE COMPATIBLE
The list of cameras that will be compatible with this device has also been revealed. The HERO 3, HERO 3+, HERO 4, and HERO 4 Session are all the cameras compatible. The Xiomi Xi camera may be compatible in the future, though. Now that this gimbal can be used with the HERO 4, there is no reason to believe why it will not be the most must have camera on the market.
THE GOPRO GIMBAL BATTERY
The battery powering this gimbal will have a pretty good battery life as well. The company did not have an official answer, but they said 3-4 hours of battery life can be expected. They also stated that a dock charger would be included with the gimbal to charge the battery. Also, for those looking for a longer battery life, extra batteries will be able to be purchased.
WHEN TO EXPECT THE GOPRO GIMBAL
The company has announced that they are still in the development stage of their gimbal. They did just produce their first design sample recently, though. It is expected that mass production will begin in February of 2016. Then, the delivery will begin in March of 2016. This device has been worked on since January of this year. It has been a year of hard work from GoPro to give the world an amazing gimbal.
GOPRO STILL ASKS FOR HELP
GoPro is still asking for users to help. They ask for your donations for their project. They mention how they need everyone’s help to bring the most stabilization and control it can to the gimbal. The exterior and interior design have been finished by the company. All that is left now is for them to finalize the product, but they need help from everyone to do it.
