Mokacam 4K Camera is Smaller Than the Smallest GoPro - http://clapway.com/2015/12/24/mokacam-4k-camera-is-smaller-than-the-smallest-gopro-123/

A new product out of Hong Kong brings us the Mokacam: the world’s smallest 4K camera. The tiny device gives us full 4K ultra HD footage right from the palms of our hands. It looks like the selfie-stick trend will be short-lived after all.

4K Camera Clapway

The Mokacam Could Kick GoPro Off the Market

This project is well on its way to becoming a top bidder in the photography industry. The Mokacam is tiny, just 45mm by 45mm, and it weighs 79 grams. The only camera in the world that is smaller is the Hero 4 Session, and it still doesn’t support 4K Ultra HD video. It features a rotating screen, snap-on batteries, motion detection and Wi-Fi. It is also waterproof and has a 16 MP sensor.

The Mokacam shoots 4K at 15FPS, which matches it to the Hero 4 Silver at a quarter of the size. It’s also significantly cheaper, set to go on the market for $169. Compare this to any other GoPro, priced at least at $300, and you’ve got yourself an awesome deal.

Looped Recording Thanks to Snap-On Batteries

The Mokacam doesn’t need to be plugged into anything to charge. The device comes with small battery packs that need only need to be snapped onto the back of the camera. It’ll latch on like a magnet and users will have 4 more hours of footage, no wiring or pausing required!

This camera can also be submerged 60 meters underwater to capture all kinds of adventures. That is the deepest distance out of any of its competitors. It’s pretty much the perfect gadget to take on a trip anywhere, as users can also take it sky high to record your adventures.

Mokacam Reinvents Selfies

Bored of your selfie sticks? Mokacam comes with a magnet built in. This means that anywhere with metal can be your selfie stick or tripod.

In fact, this little guy can even work as your security camera. It has a motion detecting sensor built in, so it can keep your home safe wirelessly and without the need for a change of battery for up to 8 hours.

This Tiny Camera Packs a Mean Punch

It can record anything from normal to wide angle and features a rotating screen. It can even record and play back in slow motion. The unit comes with a stabilizer for the best performance possible. The device can be paired with an application that allows users to upload and share footage in seconds, from anywhere with internet connection.

What’s Next, a 10mm Camera?

These devices are only getting smaller and more compact. From gadgets like the Mokacam we can expect to see cameras that we’ve only seen in spy movies and Inspector Gadget. It’s probably all worth it. The trend in technology is to make everything smaller and more compact, pocketable but with considerable power.

GoPro Respond Clapway

How Will GoPro Respond to this Threat?

Recently things have had a slight change, with the rise of the iPad Pro and the bigger iPhone 6 and 6s series. In the end, it’s all about good functionality and less bulkiness. If this project hits the market before GoPro releases a competing project, the company could be in serious trouble. This camera shows great promise of being the next huge thing. What’s more, its price is unbeatable compared to other devices on the market.

GoPro, who is planning on releasing their drone-powered camera sometime in the next year, has some serious work to do if they are looking to continue to compete in the action camera industry. While they may have no equals in terms of drone footage just yet, they could be in trouble if they let Mokacam slide into the race like this.
