IBM and NEXTDC Merge Build Powerful Hybrid Cloud
IBM has already merged with other companies like Coca-Cola to optimize cloud usage. In fact, Coca-Cola will be one of the first companies to connect to Softlayer with Direct Link through NEXTDC’s M1 Melbourne data center. This will be fore disaster recovery requirements.
IBM expresses that this new collaboration is a reflection of the importance of connectivity at a national level to Australia’s IT industry. NEXTDC is a centralized point for connections, and with a diverse body of carriers and service providers, it serves as a valuable stepping stone for business connectivity. IBM also made an announcement that it will service Giant Eagle, Inc. with their cloud. This new announcement will provide Giant Eagle with flexible pricing based on consumption. It will also make for faster obtention and provisioning of applications, as well as provide for a better system management. In addition, it will add one more layer of transparency in data from the supply chain to the check out registers.
