Will Twitch Eventually Beat YouTube? - http://clapway.com/2015/12/04/will-twitch-eventually-beat-youtube/

Twitch has recently announced that they are launching their app on Android TV’s. They also said that they updated their mobile app with a more improved message functionality. This should improve their already amazing success. However, the question now begs can they beat YouTube?

1. Twitch Youtube 1

THE STATISTICS FOR TWITCH

Twitch is an extremely popular and global video and streaming website. Their numbers back this up as well. They have their data chart public and any date can be seen on how it did on views. Over the last year, the chart shows that Twitch has accumulated over 10.9 billion views. Over the last month, they have accumulated over 852.4 million views. Daily views for them hover around 67 million. That is a ton of people viewing their platform. However, these statistics were accumulated before they released their app to Android TV’s. That number could continue to rise and it could, in due time, surpass YouTube.

THE STATISTICS FOR YOUTUBE

As of right now, YouTube still has them beaten. On YouTube’s site, they claim that every single day that get over 1 billion views. This means that they get over 1 billion views a day, and Twitch gets around 66 million a day. That difference is astronomical and they are not even close. YouTube also says on their website that almost one-third of everyone on the internet has an account with them and views their pages every day.

CAN TWITCH DO IT?

Given these statistics, it is going to be tough for Twitch to dethrone YouTube as the number one video service in the world. This news of launching their app to Android TV’s will help, but not in the matter of over 900 million users. For now, they should just focus on continuing their very good website. There might be one day where they dethrone them, but it will take some time.
