YouTube celebrated its 10th birthday on February 14th of this year, and with 2016 just around the corner, it decided to celebrate the past 12 months in a Youtube Rewind video. It features more than 150 YouTubers bringing back the best trends of the year, and it’s a heartwarming 6 minutes of a lot of fun.

YouTube Rewind Came With the Top Trending Videos of 2015
Google announced YouTube Rewind alongside a list of the 10 top trending videos of the year. The top spot was taken by Tianne King with his Silento- Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) #WatchMeDanceOn video, followed by the Clash of Clans Super Bowl ad. Jimmy Fallon’s famous Lip Synch Battles were also featured, with Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Jimmy Fallon himself. The funniest video is probably #10, with Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Mean Tweets segment featuring none other than President Barack Obama.
YouTube Releases the Ultimate #TBT Video
The video featured the most famous faces of YouTube, including Lilly Singh, Connor Franta, John Oliver, James Corden and Todrick Hall. It hasn’t all been fun and games for the Google-owned platform, as it has received some criticism in regards to the rolling out of YouTube Music and YouTube Red. However, this video is proof that YouTube is ready to become a legitimate content provider.
At the end of the announcement, YouTube encouraged users to visit the YouTube Trending tab. It’s the easiest way to get the most popular content straight to your devices, and it’s sure to become popular as people look back on all the fantastically hilarious things that happened in 2015. YouTube will not lose popularity for a long time, regardless of how much of it is transferred to other paid services. The nature of the platform makes it so there is always new content, there is always someone new to discover while on the website. That will not change anytime soon.
