SEGA Japan has announced a release date for Phantasy Star Online 2 for the PS4: the game will be released on April 20, 2016, in Japan. SEGA will be taking in a total of 50,000 beta testers between January 25 and February 15.

SEGA Announces Japanese Release of Phantasy Online 2 and Reborn: Episode 4

The Japanese game maker will be repackaging Phantasy Online 2 with the upcoming ‘Reborn: Episode 4’ update for PS4, PS Vita, and PC. There has been no news of a western release for either of these items, but Japanese gamers that buy the repackage bundle will also get in-game perks with both games.

Will Destiny Release Their Own PSO2 Copy Before April 20?

Destiny has often been called a Western version of Phantasy Online. It might be a bit of a stretch to call them the same game, but they have an awful lot of similarities. Many SEGA fans claim that Destiny piggybacks a lot of what made Phantasy Online unique and fun.

Comparisons between both games have been going around since Destiny was launched. At first, gamers were amused by the throwback it made to the PSO title. Now that Phantasy Star Online has gotten an official release date, it’s possible that Destiny catches up with a friendly copy for the West before Apri 20.

Similarities Between Destiny and Phantasy Star Online are Uncanny

Both games feature three playable races: human, altered human and robot. The titles also have three classes with specialties. Destiny has Hunter with Ranged Focus, Titan with Melee Focus and Warlock with ‘Magic’ Focus; PSO has Hunter with Melee Focus, Ranger with Ranged Focus and Force with ‘Magic’ Focus. Both games also feature four core playable areas, and all feature the same type of boss at the end.

Destiny Doesn’t Have Any Cake… Yet

The games are similar even for small details like both games feature an ominous cloaked character that identifies unknown items and have a blade dancing fighting style/attack style. The one distinct difference between both games has got to be one thing: Destiny doesn’t have any cake vendors.

The Bungie-developed game has some time to bring some cake to the table. Phantasy Online 2 has been declared to feature 4 character types with four classes, so Destiny can also make plans to bring that into the next installment in the series, too.

Destiny Can Now Officially Take You to Hell - http://clapway.com/2015/12/07/destiny-can-now-officially-take-you-to-hell-123/

Bungie has revealed the details about the next Destiny update, which rolls out this week. The new update features more useful Year One exotics for Year Two content. Hard Light and Radiant Dance Machines will be getting Year Two counterparts and higher stats than before.

New Destiny Update Will Feature New Gear at Some Point

There will be changes to the classes of weapons in the game, and the new December update will make a few changes to the game’s Titan class. All three classes, Defenders, Sunbreakers and Strikers, will have some changes and tweaks to be less overpowered by others.

The update stems after a number of gamers were unable to play for around four hours. As an added treat, Bungie will be providing new weapons and items. The game is undergoing some serious maintenance in order to keep its fanbase, which could see a significant decline with the decreasing quality of the game.

Bungie and Activision Announce a Destiny Sparrow Racing League Exclusively for PS4

Bungie’s keynote at the Playstation Experience 2015 this weekend revealed that starting December 8th, gamers on the PS4 will be able to access a new expansion pack. Destiny: The Taken King is packed with death races against five other planets, among them Venus and Mars. Gamers on the PS4 will also be able to access unique sparrows and gear, and an entirely new quest that will only be available to PS4 gamers.

New Destiny Expansion Pack Will Bring Back Fans

In the announcement, Bungie advised gamers to visit Amanda Holiday, who will host the event as Quartermaster. Players are encouraged to quest some bounties and take their place at the start line. Their website also revealed that it might be a good idea to engage in some trading (especially paint) while the expansion is live, which will be through December 29th. Gamers should race in style and with flair.

Destiny Receives 2.0.2 Update: No Need to Win Anymore - http://clapway.com/2015/11/19/destiny-receives-2-0-2-update-no-need-win-anymore/

The much allured and popular game known as Destiny has received yet another update from developer Bungie. Bungie has said that this update will modify some of the major components of the game and that it will fix some of the present bugs in the game and also allow gamers to be able to win bounties easier.

WHAT THIS NEW UPDATE WILL DO

This new update for Destiny could improve what already is an extremely popular video game depending on the players take. This new patch will reportedly fix a glitch that allowed the Nightstalker Hunter class to be achieved through Crucible mode. Crucible mode is a competitive PVP, person versus person, multiplayer activity in Destiny. Now there will be more skill involved in getting to a Nightstalker Hunter class other than just spamming weapons in Crucible mode. Bungie has also stated that it will be easier for players to earn bonuses and rewards inside Crucible mode.

Apparently, players will now receive rewards and bonuses for simply completing a game rather than actually winning it. This is a very generous update from Bungie and one some gamers will probably not be OK with. Some players like a challenge and this decision will take a little bit of the difficulty away from receiving rewards, but for other players they will probably love the fact that rewards are now easier to achieve. It is also being reported that there will be a new way to spend the money that is achieved. Banshee-44, who is the weapons merchant, will now be selling weapon parts for money and Lord Shaxx will sell elemental swords for a more fair price. These fixes and additions should give Destiny players a new experience when they play the game.

WILL THESE NEW UPDATES IMPROVE DESTINY?

What can be taken from these new updates from Bungie is it appears that they are trying to make the experience for Destiny a little bit easier. As mentioned earlier, whether or not making a game easier or harder is good depends on the player. Some players absolutely love a challenge and do not like it when a game holds their hand while playing. Other players like guidance and less of a challenge. The question on whether or not this newest patch from Bungie will improve Destiny is one that can not be answered because it depends on the player. However, it is always good for a company to at least attempt to fix any complaints about a video game.

In his Playstation Music feature, Logic talks about a script he wrote to put the truly cinematic aspect of his new album plain to the eye.

Playstation Music: Uniting Rap and Video Games

Logic is not alone in being both a musician and a gamer; these kinds of concepts could help other artists incorporate video games and cinematic elements onto their work. While sitting in a NASA jacket and playing Destiny, Logic confesses that video games serve as both a tool to release stress and to gain visual inspiration for the next verse, the next hook of the one catchy line.

There’s also the addition of Star Cards and Charged Star Cards, which gives players an extra splash of good luck. Other notable weapons are Chewie’s Bowcaster and Barrage grenade launcher, and the new Ion Torpedo that sends enemy vehicles flying with it’s great rockets.

Star Wars: Battlefront – Hero Hunt Mode

The new Hero Hunt Mode in Star Wars: Battlefront is an asymmetrical battle that has a player cast as a random Hero or Villain, and battles other players. Only this Hero or Villain can collect points, but there’s a catch: the only way gamers can play as a Hero or Villain is by killing one. Naturally this leads for a lot of sparring fun.

Other notable modes include Cargo Mode, which has teams pit against each other over control of cargo.

Halo 5 is Definitely Better than Destiny - http://clapway.com/2015/11/05/halo-5-is-definitely-better-than-destiny123/

The debate is over, Halo 5: Guardians is definitely a better game than Destiny. One week after launch, the game became the fastest-selling Xbox One exclusive one to date, and earned over $400 million in global sales. This puts the Halo franchise at having earned over $5 billion since it began.

What’s more, last wee’s Halo 5: Live earned the franchise a Guinness World Record for most watched video game launch broadcast, with over 330,000 game streams on the night of the event. Other content from the event garnered a total of 5.5 million views throughout the week, and resulted in a steep increase in digital sales for Halo 5. It became the best selling digital game in history in the Xbox Store for its opening week. So, really, which is the better game? At least according to hype and sales, Halo 5 definitely takes Destiny‘s cake.

This just goes to show the innovation that comes from the Halo series and the efforts to bring the best possible game to fans. Xbox and 343 Industries have definitely made it so that Halo 5 not only takes full advantage of the Xbox, but that brings out what the fans love the most about the franchises’ stories, characters and gameplay.

The game is sure to beat out Destiny even as the holidays set in, where Halo 5: Guardians is expected to break through a few more records.
