Handsome Gorilla Stuns at Japanese Zoo - http://clapway.com/2015/06/27/handsome-gorilla-stuns-at-japanese-zoo745/

Wait, What?

Yes, you read the title correctly. The Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya has, as one of its main attractions, a group of five gorillas. One of these gorillas is an 18 year old, 180-kg silverback named Shabani. He’s also become the star of the show at the Higashiyama Zoo, as people are flocking to the zoo to see Shabani and have taken to the social media to marvel at the handsome gorilla and his surprising looks.

So, Who Is Shabani?

Shabani wasn’t always the heartthrob he apparently is now. Shabani didn’t even live in Japan until 2007. Before that, the handsome gorilla resided in the Taronga Zoo at the Sydney Harbour in Australia. Madeleine Smitham, the Taronga Zoo’s media relations officer, remarked that, having seen Shabani at a much younger age, he wasn’t the handsome gorilla he is now. This after Smitham was a professional in media relations who had to answer a question regarding the attractiveness of, again, a gorilla.

Shabani Brings a Lot of People to the Zoo

Workers at the Higashiyama Zoo are sure to be enjoying Shabani’s surge in worldwide popularity. Higashiyama Zoo’s spokesperson Takayuki Ishikawa said Shabani has been the reason not just for more visitors to the zoo, but specifically more female visitors coming by. Ishikawa said that women at the zoo have been remarking at what a handsome gorilla Shabani is. He also went out of his way to mention that Shabani is “more buff than most gorillas” and “at his peak physically.” He was even the zoo’s model for a spring festival. Though, not to be shallow and objectify Shabani for his gorilla body, but there have also been other reasons stated for his popularity with visitors. Shabani is known to make direct eye contact and even pose for you if you’re taking a picture. He’s also developed a reputation for being fatherly and protective of his children. It’s not all about his hot gorilla bod!

Handsome gorilla also a Hit on Social Media

News of Shabani quickly made its way to social media, Twitter in particular. People have flocked to Twitter to wax poetic about his looks and have even referred to Shabani as an ikemen, which translates to good-looking men. Just a day in the life of a handsome gorilla.

If Shabani takes selfies, chances are he uses the DealStock Selfie Stick to look his best and get high-quality photos.
