Lenovo ThinkPad Revival Under Consideration - http://clapway.com/2015/06/27/lenovo-thinkpad-revival-under-consideration648/

Lenovo Wants Feedback From People

Are you an aficionado of the classic Lenovo ThinkPad? You may be in luck. David Hill, Lenovo’s Vice President of Corporate Identity and Design, recently made a blog post wherein he revealed that the company has been considering a revival of the ThinkPad, the groundbreaking laptop IBM created years before they were bought by Lenovo. To illustrate the potential a Lenovo ThinkPad comeback could have, Hill compared the possibility to modern day revivals of cars, such as the Dodge Challenger, Fiat 500, and Ford Mustang. Hill is certain that there are a significant number of fans of older tech that this could be a great idea, and highly encouraged fans and detractors alike to comment on the post in an attempt to get accurate feedback before the long stretch of development.

Great News For Geeks or Nostalgia Enthusiasts

This news could bode exceedingly well for those feeling nostalgic for classic laptop technology, or even those who just love computers. The early Lenovo ThinkPad, back when it was an IBM ThinkPad, was an astonishing breakthrough in the world of laptop computers. The ThinkPad was a beloved, award winning piece of technology, and gave us a number of facets that were integral to what laptops would become known for. Most notable of those facets was IBM’s TrackPoint, the famous red button in the middle of they keyboard that worked as a mouse (though with the mouse and trackpad technology we have today, it seems unlikely that a new Lenovo ThinkPad would rely on it too heavily).

What Would a New Lenovo ThinkPad Look Like?

Contemporary laptops have evolved in a number of physical ways beyond what the old ThinkPad had. In particular, current ones tend to utilize a 6 row keyboard and a 16:9 aspect ratio screen. But David Hill, if his blog post is to be believed, seems excited to bring those older superficial aspects back to a Lenovo ThinkPad. That includes the older 7 row keyboard, a 16:10 aspect-ratio screen, the famous blue Enter key, and other components. The idea is to make it look as much like a classic ThinkPad while still containing modern technology. In a world that loves both constantly updating tech and nostalgia, this new Lenovo ThinkPad would almost certainly be a success.
