Hoverboards Banned in New York
Hoverboards are the hottest items in new technology gadgets, and New York City authorities have just issued a ban on their use. The NYPD has declared that since hoverboards are vehicles not registered at state DMV’s, they are illegal for use in the city.
Hoverboards Are Suffering at the Hands of this Ban
This ban has proven to cause quite a stir in businesses that sell the gadgets exclusively, which go at about $500 per unit in most establishments. The problem doesn’t end there, as in addition to have the authorities’ opposition, hoverboards are also looked down on by the locals.
Some people have claimed that hoverboards will come to replace walking and encourage less exercise. As it stands, stores like Macy’s have entire spaces dedicated solely to hoverboards, but with this ban, not only sill sales drop, but demand may even increase.
Won’t This Make More People Want Hoverboards?
The biggest problem with this ban is that since it discourages the use of hoverboards, people will make movements to shoot it down. Enthusiasts consider hoverboards as viable a mode of transport as a bicycle or a skateboard, the only issue being that they can’t be properly used on sidewalks. Users mostly turn to the roads, which does explain why authorities would want it to be registered at state DMVs, but surely this ban will be lifted with action from the people.

Hi, this product is really awesome but I also know a website selling this kind of hoverboard for sale for only $99 bucks. It is all brand new unit and seller says they didn't bought it, that's why they can sell it for a very low price. So sad it is illegal on NYC.
